Remy sits on his bed looking out the window and rubbing his arms. That conversation had been… long and odd. Xaiver had explained his powers and the powers of the other mutants residing in the house. 

Then they had discussed Remy's training. Xaiver seemed eager to figure out just how tied to emotions Remy's powers are, using his powers to bring about thoughts to influence Remy's mood with Remy's permission. It had been a weird intrusive feeling. Like a wet lock of hair stuck under a shirt. Uncomfortable and icky. Xaiver had seemed surprised at the comment, noting that most people did not notice his intrusion. Remy is not sure what to think of that other than to be a little disturbed.

He lays down fully on his bed and stares at the ceiling. His fingers twitch against the blankets. His eyes close and he hums gently

“Come in Remy.”

Remy enters and sits down on the thick plush chair. Xavier is sitting behind his desk. 

“I’d like us to explore that memory that caused such a strong reaction in you before. It seems to be one of the main memories and type of emotion to make you lose control. While i can read minds, that does not necessarily mean I know what emotion you are feeling at any given moment even if I am in your mind. And to help with your powers we need to be focused on what specific emotions seem to be triggers.”

Remy nods, understanding the logic even if it makes him very uncomfortable.

“I think that we should do this in the Danger Room because we know that we are going make your powers react with this session.”

Remy slowly nods, really not wanting to bring harm to anyone else. Not like that. They go down to the Danger Room and Remy enters the room proper while Xaiver stays up in the glass observation deck. Remy sits down on the floor, legs crossed and back curled forward as his back hunches. 

He closes his eyes as the speakers crackle. 

“Ready, Remy?”

“Oui. Let's start, Monsieur.”

He says softly, taking a deep breath after speaking.

“Let's begin. Think back to that memory.”

Remy breathes again, feeling something inky and sticky entering his mind. He turns his thoughts to the incident with Julien. Henri and Remy had been walking along, returning home from a little coffee trip to one of their favorite haunts. And then… Julien had come with a threat and a snarl that Remy could not be friends with Bella no more. Remy feels his heart rate starting to spike as he recalls the glittering poison of the Assassin Guild blade sweeping at his brother. Threatening to take one of the people most important to him away. He feels his sparks beginning to flare as he becomes stuck in the terror and anxiety of the moment. Horror washes over him like a tsunami, swirling everywhere and making him gag.

‘Breathe, Remy!!’

A voice calls in his head, but his mind is stuck on the false image of his brother being stabbed and dying. The world is ending. 

The world cannot continue to go on with his family gone. His body jerks and twitches, and he gasps and starts screaming. 

He needs his brother!

His powers flare across his body, crackling and biting.

‘Remy! Either you breathe and calm down, or I will knock you out.’

Thats not-

Xavier was not there. Remy takes a long, gasping breath. He needs to calm. He forces himself to attempt to calm down. It is not easy, as worry and horror continue to claw and bite. Sitting still is not helping. He forces himself up and flicks out his bo staff. He begins moving through the color guard routine. He still feels all of his powers; he can feel them in the floor and can feel them trying to expand. He tries to yank them back, but his body seems to dislike that idea. Everything explodes, the room turning to shrapnel. Remy curls into himself, trying to protect his body. 

‘Im knocking you out, Remy.’
