Birdie steps outside, his expression conflicted. He holds his new notebook in his arms, the Goddess Sword slung halfway across his back, covered by his sailcloth. Should he head up to Skyloft? He doesn't want to be down here. He wants to go home. Why can't he just stay at home...? This isn't fair... Why did he have to lose his voice? Why did a fake Sky have to attack him?
He's knocked to the ground suddenly, pushed onto his back, and he's staring into the hateful eyes of Sky. Hands press against the tender scar across his neck -- pushing too hard -- he can't breathe, he can't get air into his lungs, he can't- he can't get-
His hands pull at the ones around his neck, pulling, tugging, trying to get away- he can't get away- he can't escape--
A blast of something hits the fake Sky, knocking him off Birdie, who gasps for breath, panting, struggling to get the proper amount of air back into his lungs. He looks up, seeing Legend standing in front of him, sword at the fake Sky's neck. The real Sky walks over as Birdie rubs his neck, his entire body trembling. The expression on his face makes Birdie freeze -- the pure rage is terrifying, like when his voice got stolen, like just now. He only snaps out of his freeze when Sky stands and walks towards the fake Sky, his wrist bracer removed, the mark on the back of his hand glowing hot, bright, staring at it makes him feel sick--
A squawk behind him grabs his attention. He doesn't hesitate to scramble to his feet, forgetting about his notebook, leaving it on the ground. He barrels into Crimson's feathers -- not his loftwing, not his bond -- and is eager to follow the giant bird away from the growing confrontation. Is he really worth fighting over? Maybe- maybe it would've been better if- if he had really-
His legs give out, and he falls with a gasp.
His very existence is a disgrace to all 'heroes'. Had he been a real hero, it wouldn't have been hard to get out of my hold, but he just took it.
He didn't. Did he? He just took it. He tried to fight back.. Right? Wasn't that what he was doing? Yeah -- he'd been fighting back..! He had, really! He swears..!
He hasn't even realized Crimson had led him away from the fight, is now curling him in his feathers, protecting him like a chick, like a child as he sobs, soundless, unable to calm himself down.
