I originally read this book when I was taking Teaching Adolescent Literature at my university, and after I finished reading it the second time, I was desperately wishing I had read it when I was in high school. This book is a wonderful story of a young man who finds himself, and a circle of friends who love him because of who he is, and not who he pretends to be or what he has. Every teen deserves to hear a story like that, and the chance to understand that the secret to “fitting in”, is to be true to who you are without being concerned about the opinions of other people. Please take a moment to write in support of keeping this book accessible to teenagers everywhere. Thank you.
