I’m going to take a page from your book and do categories. XD Because it could be so many of them, for different reasons!

Forgive Me My Weakness (Anisoka, explicit in final chapter) is the longest finished piece I’ve done to date, and the closest thing to a slow burn I’ll probably manage.

Tell Me Yes (Obikin) and Marg Sabl (Anisoka) are both explicit pieces that were far out of my ‘comfort zone’ for writing.

The Sheltering Storm (Gen) because it’s my first work that someone recorded a podfic for!

And (seriously) Luminary (Gen) because it’s an idea that was very dear to me, and I’m so, so happy that it hit home for people. (Similar to that are Moving (Gen) and Raise You (Gen).)

Summary:

It starts with a kiss.

And the thing is Obi-Wan knows how much of a bad idea this is. Knows that the kiss should have been the end of it, that kissing shouldn’t have even happened.

So he thinks he’s justified in his surprise when Anakin approaches him with a proposition.

"We're just two people who like each other, and who better to sleep with than your best friend while on the front lines?”

Obi-Wan has to bite his lips in order not to smile at that.

“Just don't fall in love with me, Master.” He says easily and Obi-Wan already knows this isn’t going to end well.

He agrees anyway.

(Or: Things start to get complicated when they start kissing and get even more complicated when they start sleeping together through the war. It’s a good thing feelings aren’t involved.)

6. Fave/Least Fave PlanetFAVE:  Answered here!LEAST FAVE:  Canto Bight.  Yes, some of that is that the storyline failed to capitalize on the bigger events of Star Wars (how do you have a story about going to a casino planet that war profits built and completely ignore that you have a person right there that was literally stolen for the entire purpose of waging a war that would make people rich? how do you ignore Finn being a former First Order Stormtrooper and the war that the FO is waging on the galaxy? how do you ignore the cost to him, when you’re already showing that you get that Rose had her life destroyed by the FO and their war, HOW DO YOU IGNORE FINN LIKE THAT?), but more that it was symptomatic of everything that frustrates me about the ST’s worldbuilding.We’re told that this is a galaxy-wide famous casino, to the point that even Finn’s heard of it despite that he was a First Order Stormtrooper like the day before this.  Yet, where are the connections to the bigger galaxy we know?  Where are any established aliens?  Where are any established syndicates that would be getting in on these profits?  We’re told that it’s this tremendously culturally significant place for the entire galaxy, yet there’s no traces of that galaxy present there.Canto Bight tried way too hard to be A Big Deal and thus felt not at all organic a piece of worldbuilding, especially when there wasn’t a single Twi’lek, Ithorian, Duros, or Hutt to be seen there.  /grumps about it9.  Fave/Least Fave ShipFAVE:  I AM ENDLESSLY FASCINATED BY THE REPUBLIC CRUISERS, they’re so huge (though, not as huge as the later Star Destroyers) and how they’re the proto-version of the Star Destroyers that are so incredibly iconic and helped make Star Wars to be what it was, as well as I want to know all the nerdy spec stuff!Give me private quarters!  Tell me how many people can fit onto one of them!  What do the hangars look like, how many starfighters and assault craft total do they have?  Do all of them have training areas like the one in Jedi: Fallen Order?  TELL ME EVERYTHING!!!

9. Ship

Fave: I’m going to have to go with the classic X-Wing from Episodes 4, 5 & 6. Yes, the aethersprites in the Clone Wars are cool and, yes, nothing will be as balletic, mesmerizing and sexy as the opening of Revenge of the Sith and those twin Jedi starfighters but I will never forget riding my bike around my neighborhood pretending to be Luke Skywalker in my X-Wing shooting down TIE fighters and fleeing Darth Vader who seems bizarrely obsessed with me for Reasons(tm and pointed look at the audience). 

Least: Kylo Ren’s Lego TiE fighter thingy NOW WITH RED BITS!!! like a guy who is really into cars and wants to prove his superiority even though you’re just there because “OOOO! SHINY” and not because you give a damn about the torque power in his bright red break pads and fancy drifting car that he doesn’t use to race or drift with and only comes out of the garage on sunny days with no rain. 

In a very close tie for my least favorite ship is that trigonometry homework question gone wrong in Rebels. That is too many triangles Thrawn. PUT THE TRIANGLES DOWN, ADMIRAL. NOBODY WANTS THIS TO GET VIOLENT you malevolent blueberry who should have been played by Mads Mikkelsen but I guess we’ll have to settle for his younger brother. 

12. Moment/Scene

Fave: IG-11 in Episode 8 of the Mandalorian, avenging Baby Yoda against the SNL jerkoffs who hurt him, zipping across the lava flats like wind resistance? What’s That? Streaking through the Navarro marketplace and single-handedly fucking up Moff Holy Shit It’s Giancarlo Esposito’s shit as he proves that he is the Best Damn Nurse Droid in the galaxy and when he says he’s going to protect he means he will protect Baby Yoda with absolute lethal force and I am there for it. 

Also… “Do not be sad. I was never alive.” I’m just going to lay down and die right here okay? My tears will water the earth and in spring (which is probably tomorrow in Texas) wildflowers will bloom and Dave Filoni won’t be able to hurt me anymore. 

6. PLANET

Fave: Alderaan. It has something for everyone: cities, mountains, plains, rivers, forests, etc. Lots of history and culture and from what I’ve read they seem to be a little more open-minded than some places. Kashyyk runs a close second, though.

Least Fave: Ehh, first one that springs to mind is Hoth. Bit obvious, but while I like a bit of snow now and then Hoth takes it to extremes. And if you’re gonna have a single biome frozen world, you could at least use a little more imagination. Ice cities, frozen forests, something.

14. FIGHT

Fave: The first fight between Obi-Wan and Maul, of course. And Qui-Gon, while he lasted. Excellent choreography, graceful moves, the thrill of danger. Gotta love it.

Least Fave: The battle in Snoke’s throne room. It’s kind of a metaphor for the sequel trilogy, IMO: on the surface it looks slick and cool, but the more you look at it the worse it gets. Sloppy as hell, choppy, garish, and nonsensical. I don’t want to blame the fight choreographers, but whoever was responsible for that mess of whiffed attacks and poor timing really needs to rethink their career. Those gifsets that make the rounds? Cringeworthy. I’m guessing the choreographer was either pissed off or hamstrung by the director. Possibly both.

Special mention to Obi-Wan’s last duel with Maul as well. SO. FUCKING. LAZY. Fighting the E X A C T same fight as the first time?? Bullshit. Even Maul at his most suicidal wouldn’t be THAT stupid. If he’s going to die, he’s going to die fighting like he means it. When has he EVER gone easy on Kenobi?

15. LINE OF DIALOGUE

Fave: Hmm. So many choices. The Mandalorian’s “I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold” is a current fave. Boba Fett’s “he’s no good to me dead” is good for classics, and the meaning can be played with as well. ;) In terms of sheer delivery, I don’t remember a word of Hux’s speech to the troops in TFA, but Domnhall’s delivery makes my skin crawl every time.

My advice would be pick a hobby that you’d enjoy doing! And that it’s completely chill that you mess up if you don’t get it right the first time—the important part is that you have fun doing it bc it’s a hobby for you!

I was just talking with my girl about this last night, the fact that it’s not only the temperature but how prepared a city is for it (overall architecture style, mass use of AC, people’s typical hydration habits). 80 degrees in a place adapted for 60 is just as bad as 110 in a place adapted for 90. I’m from Texas but have nothing but sympathy for people in cooler climes when heat waves roll around.
