Okay so I know we all have our ideas of what the perfect set list would be for FITF world tour and we all have the songs we wanna hear and blah blah blah, however I truly believe this set list is the best set list he could’ve had (apart from one where he sings literally every song he’s released since being solo) but anyway I truly think it’s a really good set list!
Especially the 1D songs he’s decided to cover, not only because he’s literally smashed them and made them more rocky but also because they fit SO well with Faith in the Future.
Where do broken hearts go is essentially a song about hurting someone you love and asking them where they’ve gone, either because you physically can’t find them or they’ve just become distant they’re someone you don’t recognise anymore. With this in mind it ties in very well with Lucky again, which I’ve talked about before as being like a self love song, it’s about dealing with the heartbreak but realising you can do better.
Night changes is obviously just about a relationship and growing and becoming older and different people, and accepting those changes and while this does tie in with Faith in the Future it’s not in the way I think so, I think it ties in more with Change and maybe even a little bit of The Greatest (that’s only if you wanna look at it from a standpoint of him talking to fans saying he’s not going anywhere and no matter how much things grow and change things won’t change for the fans and Louis) but overall the song is just again about embracing how life changes and that’s okay which also ties in with Bigger Than Me.
Faith in the Future as an album is all about heartbreak but most importantly overcoming that heartbreak, moving on from that heartbreak embracing what it’s done to you but also embracing the changes but also struggling with the concept of change. It’s an album of growth, I always say this but his way of story telling in his songs is incredible because each song individually tells it’s own story but then also put them together on this gorgeous album and they tell a whole other multitude of stories, there’s always layers.
But anyway my point was the set list is perfect and each song he’s picked is carefully chosen and you can tell he’s really thought about it and I love that he’s always trying to tell a story. I’m pleased he’s occasionally swapping songs in and out such as high in California, saved by a stranger and common people
