First impression: Wow, what a nerd! I love her.

Impression now: Wow, what a brave, loving nerd! I love her. 

Favorite moment: There are lots of little moments with Mina that I love, but I really love Mina telling Lucy she’s learning shorthand. Her love language is... language. 

Idea for a story: I’d be really interested in something where some other unlucky solicitor gets Jonathan’s assignment and Mina and the gang fight back against the vampire presence in the UK from a more oblique angle.

Unpopular opinion: This isn’t an unpopular opinion on Tumblr so much any more, happily, but I really dislike reincarnation romance subplots with Mina. 

Favorite relationship: Mina and Lucy! Mina and Jonathan! Hell yes. 

Sarah Williams is still my forever girl!

First impression: I remember finding her REALLY petulant and bothersome when I was younger, in the same way I found Luke Skywalker really petulant and bothersome (do your chores, god!!!!!) but I was also incredibly jealous that she had romantic outfits to play dressup in while wandering around in the park. 

Impression now: She’s totally just a normal teenage girl and I love her because she reminds me of so many people that I also love. 

Favorite moment: The “it’s all junk” scene -- the Junk Lady is just doing her job by Labyrinth standards, but Sarah being confounded by all the just-so baggage of things that she doesn’t need to necessarily keep, but that she wants to keep for sentimental reasons... idk, it’s a tough push and pull, because I’m a sentimental person, but I don’t really think the gist of that scene (especially in light of the ending) is that you have to give that stuff up to grow up, only that hanging onto stuff just to hang on to it is also painful. 

Idea for a story: Sarah mentoring Danny from Cape Fear 1991, or meeting up with Amy from Fright Night when she’s writing CBS Beauty and the Beast fanfiction and Amy is a graduate student writing about demon lover archetypes. 

Unpopular opinion:  I just can’t get into Jareth/Sarah like I did when I was younger -- I like lots of other het ships with a similar dynamic, but the one-two punch of Jennifer Connolly being genuinely so young IRL and associations with my own childhood is like NOOOOOO. 

Favorite relationship: Sarah’s friendships with Hoggle, Sir Didymus, and Ludo! Also, her passing acquaintance with that worm. 

a theme that keeps coming up in my writing is basically “it’s okay, it’s okay.” i write a lot about people who are worried for reasons that turn out not to be such a big deal after all.

ooh, this is a hard one! i’m mostly interested in writing relationships where people know what they want, even if they don’t know exactly how to get it, and where they end up getting what they want.
