🍔 — Tell you a writeblr that I admire!

The irony is that I was planning on including you in response to this one. XD Probably still will! But another writeblr I admire a whole lot:

@lady-redshield-writes is one of the first writeblrs I ever knew about, and actually was one my main inspirations for starting up a writeblr blog in the first place!

Her way of writing is just... I legitimately don’t know how to explain how absolutely awe-inspiring it is. She’s able to weave so heckin’ much emotion into so few words, her characters’ personalities are so varied and yet all are so deep with such fascinating backstories, and the way she explains her worldbuilding through her prose and dialogue is just... it’s done so naturally? And yet it’s so detailed and I absolutely adore that. Her ease with constructing an emotional atmosphere is stunning, and the environments and descriptions are always so vivid, it’s so, sooo good.

And that’s not even mentioning how supportive and interactive Lady Red is! I’ve found some of my favourite writeblrs through the original content she reblogs, and the comments she leaves are some of the most thoughtful and sweet responses I’ve ever seen on here. Every time I see her in my notifications I always get a giddy feeling, because! This writeblr! This amazing writer and marvelous person! Is interacting with me and my works! IT’S ASTOUNDING.

🥞 — Talk about how much I love an OC of mine!

Shall we go with Dione since I know how much you enjoy her?

Goshhh, there’s so many spoilers in her story, gah. 

But I adore her, I love her so much. One of the main symbols of her character is the guilt she carries for her past wrongdoings. She’s only recently begun to see the fault in her previous ways, and it’s heavily confusing her, since she now feels so much regret for actions she normally wouldn’t be bothered by in the slightest. A major part of her character arc is learning how to cope with this guilt, and how to avoid creating more of it when she’s so used to not caring.

She’s still quite pretentious, to be honest. ^^’ Immortality and social anxiety don’t mix well with trying to see the worth in giving others your time or attention.

It’s actually adorable when she starts to try to be nice to people. She’s so certain she’s going about it wrong, and is consistently worried about her interactions because of it. She gets flustered very easily, not used to people being nice to her in return. Normally so composed and formal, it’s really sweet when you she’s uh. Really not. It’s the Best source of fluff yes.

kahfjdshkjfsdg @marlettwrites has been such a lovely friend to have on here. They’ve supported me virtually from the beginning---I’m fairly sure they were one of the first to follow me! They tag me in such wonderfully positive things, and that’s not even mentioning the wonderful writing skill they have in their own work! It’s made me feel so welcome in the community to have people like Marlett lending support but also as just someone to talk to! (I’m so sorry we haven’t talked at all recently, Quill’s real bad at chatting one on one for some reason. )

@holotones Hey yeah you’re actually like. One of the writers of several of my favourite wips on here even though I’ve only recently stumbled across your works, but I just... I REALLY ENJOY YOUR WRITING STYLE AND YOUR CHARACTERS, and your editing skills are!! ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS. Seriously you’re an inspiration. Anyways, I’d love to have the chance to talk more!

🍿 — Tell you something I really love about my writing!

Y’ALL THIS IS HARD

Okayy lessee

You know what I really love to do? I really love to purposefully break grammar rules. This happens particularly in high emotion situations, where the narrating character perhaps is losing their rationality a bit, so it’s reflected in the text! Or perhaps they’re just a character that tends to play around with grammar a lot, in a way that reflects their dialogue quirks! It’s great fun, and I think it adds a lot to the emotion and the characterization!

🍟 — Talk about another writeblr’s WIP that everyone should check out!

WE’RE TALKING ABOUT @abalonetea‘s GROUNDHOG DAY FOR THIS ONE.

First off!! I love the unique concept that this takes place in a video game universe, where two games of clashing styles have been linked together through a glitch that switches two of the characters! That in itself lends such an intrigue to the story, with all sorts of wonderful references to your classic RPGs alongside so much marvelous worldbuilding with the creatures and locations and FOODS and the magic system and so much heckin’ more. I LOVE how the HEART concept works and affects the story, and there’s just! So much detail and it’s beautiful.

AND THEN THE CHARACTERS. Hhhhhh the dynamics are sooo lovely to read about, the relationships and the personalities and the backstories. It’s just. Ohhh, Katie’s characters all feel like they could be real, you know. Despite some not being entirely human. ^^ But each is so distinct!

I also love Katie’s dialogue writing skills and the way she uses varying text formats to ingrain the glitches and thoughts directly into the narrative, it’s such a unique style but works so absolutely well. Her writing is honestly such an inspiration to me, with how much emotion she can easily fit into her smaller passages, with how much she tortures her readers alongside her characters. Seriously Katie I really want my boys to be happy. YOU HEAR THAT. I WANT THEM TO HAVE HAPPINESS.

@mvcreates is going to get about a thousand of these, I just know it, but TOO BAD HAVE ANOTHER. 

Mina is genuinely one of the main supporting pillars of this community. I’m absolutely certain so many are going to have the same wonderful things to say about her, but it’s because it’s all true, and it’s because she’s inspired and helped so many writeblrs.

I started out on here I believe just a few weeks after Mina, and she was one of the main blogs that inspired my aim to support other writeblrs as much as I could. Not only is she immensely supportive of other people’s content, both through reblogs and reviews as well as her hosted events and discord server, she also produces such amazing art and writing herself, and it’s just... ahhhh, it’s all so MARVELOUS to see and read!! I love her usage of symbolism and her seemingly magical ability to write so much in so little. It’s pushed me to try so many new things about my own wip!

I’VE ONLY RECENTLY DISCOVERED THIS CHARACTER’S EXISTENCE BUT I AM IN LOVE.

@lordkingsmith‘s Matteo, from Gods of Stars and Bone? Heckin’ favourite, and that’s an achievement, considering so many of his characters are so, so fantastic. But a thief of magical artifacts, works on a ship with a mermaid best friend, is prone to setting things aflame and causing explosions??? LORD DID YOU JUST TAKE ALL OF MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER THINGS AND MIX THEM UP INTO ONE??? (I enjoy that the ‘Lord’ could be interpreted in two ways. XD)

AND THEN HE GOES AND MARRIES A CHAOS GOD. MATTEO. ANYWAYS I ADORE HIM YES. But I don’t actually know too much about him yet, so I’d love to have the chance to learn more!!

Okay I think this is a given, because my writeblr wouldn’t even exist if Jason didn’t help me over my technical ineptitude with creating the account. XD

@waterfallwritings has been supporting me long before he created his own writeblr, and my wip OSS honestly wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for him! SO YEAH, JASON, YOU’RE TO BLAME FOR ALL THIS CHAOS THANKS

akjsfhksjdfhg but seriously, not only is his own writing absolutely marvelous and oh so fun, with lovely characters and a story that has me wonderfully engaged, but it’s! SO inspirational! Jason wrote a whole heckin’ book already and I just... honestly didn’t think it would be possible to do that at our age??? I DUNNO WHY, IT WAS JUST A SHOCK TO ME. A real darn good one because it gave me the motivation to actually write my own attempt. And the entire way he’s been so encouraging and supportive not only with my writing, with letting me rant at him about stuff, but just as a best friend in general, and I’m just. Love. I’m love. THANK, JASON

I think Colin is the only one of the main four I haven’t talked about yet, so let’s go!!

Colin is actually based on an OC of mine that was... sorta kinda a self-insert. So he and I have a whole bunch in common! Actually fun fact but one of the whole reasons I made his arc the way it is is because if my parents ever read OSS it’s basically explaining and normalizing my coming out of the closet to them ah

ANYWAYS. 

Something I love about Colin is that he may at first come across as rather... not. Smart. Which is real unfortunate. But. He’s actually incredibly intelligent! It just doesn’t show very easily, because he has such a low self-confidence when talking about himself, and though he has a lot of difficulty slotting puzzle pieces together (and is oblivious to so much oops), his memory is insane and he’s wonderfully skilled with a lot of “unconventional” intelligence types! His character allows me to show that what is usually perceived as “smart” isn’t anywhere near all the ways someone can actually be smart!

Colin is astoundingly knowledgeable in sailing skills, knot tying and the like. He’s nearing the skill level of a master fiddler (especially during this time period wow), is remarkably adept at composing and telling stories, and his optimism is not because of his immaturity! Although he is very childish. That’s just part of the fun about him, though. XD Anyways yes!! I adore my clumsy puppy!

🧂 — Gush about someone’s OC that is absolutely amazing!

Okay okay, so, @bookenders is the source of so many of my favourite ocs you Don’t Even Know. But! FRED. FRED IS ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAVOURITES.

He’s such!! A sweet old soul, who acts as basically one of the wonderfully caring father figures to the main character, Gemma! Gosh I love gentle father figures, it’s amazing hhh. Fred might be consistently getting into a variety of random mishaps somehow, but he’s so good at taking things in stride and looking on the bright side, and I just. Love. Love that sort of hapless character who doesn’t let it get them down.

Plus, he’s a medieval history nerd?? I’m not a history nerd myself but I adore when people are passionate about something they love and it’s no different with a fictional person. He’s got! A history blog!! That’s so neat! And a hobby gardener! I’m a hobby gardener! AND HIS LAST NAME IS CORIANDER. Coriander is my favourite herb to cook with ahhhhh.

@sunlight-and-starskies has a story named The Stronger which is absolutely chock full of lovelies, but I gotta say! My favourite has got to be James.

This goofball is just an absolute sweetheart with his jokes and kindness, and his interest in computer programming is so darn relatable to me! I also just... generally tend to really enjoy computer nerds and he definitely fits that bill. ^^ Plus! He’s such a wonderfully kind child and maybe sort of acts like an idiot (but a heckin’ adorable one) despite how heckin’ clever he really is and his terrible puns give me LIFE.

He also has water manipulation and flight powers and that’s just! SO COOL. I legitimately can’t wait to see more of how he uses that!

HELLO GO FOLLOW @emdrabbles SHE’S AMAZING.

I’ve only recently had the opportunity to read some of her writing but it is!! ABSOLUTELY STELLAR. Her word choice and characterization is wonderful and her style just reads so smoothly, it’s amazing! And her main wip at the moment, Riptide, is full of a good story and such unique and enjoyable characters both!

PLUS HER AESTHETIC EDITS. ARE ABSOLUTELY INSPIRATIONAL. Seriously they’re freakin’ GORGEOUS.
