psychoanalyzing people isn't a good habit to get into, but by god do romantasy writers make it tempting. oh, every other woman in your story is a bitch and a meanie? and the only positive female characters are the mother of the protagonist (naturally sexually inaccessible to our male love interest, although still expressing how hot and sexy he is to reaffirm the universality of his alpha appeal) and the soon-to-be dead, angelic mother of the love interest? and have you considered taking this manuscript to your therapist? no, it's nothing. just curious.
#it's not the worst thing when compared to what male authors do on the regular so don't take this as me bashing romantasy#but the absolute lack of self-reflection is almost impressive.#there was no editing done to this book. she vomited out the text and that was it. ready for the shelves since its birth five seconds ago.#and now tiktok ladies are reading through it and loving the unedited lack of self-reflection because it resonates with their exact issues#wowie...
