BJ’s a God damned dumbass but literally everyone he comes into contact with ends up ridiculously altered by his mere existence.
Jules takes one look at him and goes dear God that is a literal child and through continuous interactions with BJ is forced to re-evaluate the last eight years of his entire life, because this child has more steel in his spine than anyone else he’s ever met, but also no fucking idea how war works.
it’s Jules finally making a stand that sends Braeburn into realizing some things about himself and his contracts, and that he’s actually fond of the people he works with, and if he keeps down this path, Tony and Rizzo are both going to end up dead, and yeah, okay, maybe he does care for Jules as more than just a friend, as more than just a warm body to be around.
and of course, this rockets Tony and Rizzo’s piece of the plot, as the central rally points for their team, and their team rallying bleeds into them being able to pull Feliciano out of the frying pan, so to speak, which gives Lukas enough drive to make some fast realizations of his own, which gives Scout a chance to go, yeah, it’s maybe time a few things change.
everything is like a pinball effect, bouncing off of each other, into suddenly positive and encouraging interactions, and it’s all because this dumbass hummingbird man looked someone in the eyes and gave them Mercy.
