We started our Friday lunch with some tapas from Rambla at Stall No. 8. Rambla has a restaurant at the Joya Building in Rockwell Center so this stall acts as a tapas extension of their Spanish Mediterranean cuisine.

We had a few bites of their Croquettas de Jamon (P170) and Sisig Croquettas (P190). These bite-sized appetizers are full of flavors so they are a good way to jumpstart your taste buds.

I love fries so the Patatas Bravas (P170) is also a good plate to share with the entire table.

I thought this was a lovely bread or ensaymada but the colorful Tortilla and Jamon (P250) is actually a Spanish omelette topped with big pieces of sliced ham. It’s quite good!

The crunchy Calamares Andeluza (P290) is always a popular bar chow or appetizer and you can also find this at The Grid Food Market.

There are other tapas available for sharing including the Gambas Al Ajillo (P625) with its shrimp cooked in garlic and olive oil. Aside from these, Rambla offers delightful pintxos and even paellas during the weekend.

Tapas are best paired with a glass of refreshing cocktail. Over at Stall No. 12, you can order a beverage from EDSA Beverage Design Group to go with your ramen, burger, or nasi lemak. 

The Tropical Sangria (P650) is a refreshing afternoon drink that can that will make your afternoon get-together more interesting. Order two bottles for double the fun.

They also have signature cocktails like the Take Off (P300) which has a combination of Bacardi Superior White Rum, Cocchi Americano house acid, violette and passion fruit syrup plus soda. On the other hand, the Irish Coffee (P250) has espresso, Jameson Blended Irish Whiskey, brown sugar syrup, cream, and nutmeg. 

Other coffee choices include Espresso Milk (P150), flat white, cappuccino, hot or iced caffe latte, teas, and more.

Now it’s time for desserts! The Workshop by Le Petit Souffle offers some delightful treats for those who want a sweet ending. They have a very enticing lineup of brownies, cakes, cookies, and crepes to choose from.

These Life Changing Brownies are moist and fudgy brownies that may not exactly change your life, but they will definitely leave you wanting more. They also have Caramelized Walnut Brownies, Flourless Chocolate Cakes made with dense chocolate almond cake and whipped cream cheese, Chocolate Chunk Cookies, plus a 17-Layer Strawberry Shortcake and 17-Layer Caramel Cake.

To cap off the afternoon, grab a bottle of wine from Happy Wines. Order a jamon and cheese platter to complete your dining experience. 

They have an entire wall of bottles on display so wine connoisseurs should be very happy. We had a bottle of Quatro Pasos Rosado (P950), a sweet rosé wine that is my type of afternoon tea.

The Grid Food Market continues to impress me with its high-quality lineup of stalls and offerings. There are still a few other I haven’t tried, including Happy Ongpauco-Tiu’s Le Chon and the fabulous lobster rolls from Bun Appetit. So I’ll see you again next time!
