tonight, someone who works a 9-5 asked me why I, a service industry employee, always has to work weekends...and I said weekends are busiest because thats when people with 9-5ā²s are off work spending money. and heās older than my parents and said he had never thought about that dynamic, and in my head iām like, really I think about it all the time! on fridays customers are always making comments about the upcoming weekend and it just doesnt exist for us. iām not necessarily complaining, butĀ working weekends isnāt a choice for me, itās just the demands ofĀ my current job (which happens to be the best situation that allows me to pay my bills). it also means I can have lots of fun on a random Tuesday while the rest of the world is seemingly busy. but yeah the fact that hordes of people go out on weekends means that hordes of people have to serve those people on the weekendĀ
