Our “barn manager” who is really just a working student who’s been here a year and apparently needed a title has literally just been going into her apartment at night while the rest of us are still working and there’s still chores to do.

Took my truck in to have the brakes checked today, fully expecting that I would have to pay $400-600 to repair them. Initial check, it’s what I expected. Rear rotors need replaced. $461 estimate. I say go ahead and do it. Little while later the guy comes back and says I need to come back and see it. Almost everything behind the rotor is rusted out and it’s either replace all the necessary parts for about $1300 or my truck is going to have to be towed out of there.
I started nearly crying. You know, a few tears you wipe away but not bawling so it’s uncomfortable but whatever. Talk about payment plans, and ask if I can have a moment to call my dad.
Call dad, tell him the number and without any hesitation he says “put it on my credit card.”
So now I’m crying because I love my parents so much and I’m so so glad that they still go above and beyond to help me when I need it.
i was able to bring indy home for thanksgiving break since we did a clinic the weekend before and then i volunteered to wake up earlier than i do for school to help out my trainer ‘cause i missed the working student life lol

I have finals next week and realized that starting tomorrow I work the next six straight nights. who needs time for the half dozen+ papers and studying I should be doing with the next 11 days. oh god.

Fed, blanketed, turned horses out and in, cleaned water buckets, cleaned stalls, done and went home. The other workers were gossiping to about me in Spanish - little do they know I knew what they were saying. Oops
