I so fucking prefer self-serve checkouts and McDonald's-style dining places where you place an order at the terminal, then show the check or smth and pick it up yourself. Each and every interation with a waiter or a cashier seems so awkward and miserable on both sides, if I were one, I'd fucking kill myself
Like, I'm a big boy, not some hyper-spoiled royalty or 18-th century peasant grandma, I can carry my food to the table, I can put my bread up to the scanner. I don't want half the waking life of a human being dedicated to this kind of task
They're in a miserable position, I see it, but have to treat them like a surf because otherwise I can't get my groceries or food fancier than a trashy burger otherwise, so I'm miserable too. No fun for anyone
I know there are disabled tech-illiterate grandmas who need such options, but, like, most people don't. Like two cashiers and as many self-checkouts as you can get is the best, same for waiters and "ORDER 69420 READY"-s
Of course, the worst part is that for many of these people the choice is this or starvation, and this makes both of us twice as miserable. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TedTalk on fully automated space communism, have fun and gay sex
