Linguistics YouTuber posted a short about a diacritic mark and how itās used in different languages, and the last use case they mentioned is how itās used to make words gender neutral in some languages like for example French, and then they said āand with that in mind, happy pride!ā and ended the video.
And people in the comments are calling it virtue signaling which is just like⦠I just know itās because the person isnāt visibly queer and doesnāt bring it up. They present masculine and people assume he/him pronouns for them and use them all the time in the comments. But if you actually click to go to their channel they have their pronouns set to āthey/themā. Itās been that way forever.
Ugh. Nonbinary people donāt owe you androgyny.
It must feel terrible to finally get up the courage to even vaguely bring up something related to nonbinary people, and have the comment section immediately full of people calling it you virtue signaling.
