Cut me open

there’s no blood

left to spill

Rip me limb to limb

only words will tumble out

stories waiting to have a voice

will find their own way

to the hearts of those

who doubted

disbelieved

I ever had it in me

even if I am dead

my parodies

will sing for me

because in living

there’s no consolation

no prams for those babies

there’s not one roof

that will house my poems

there’s not one body

who will peek into

my hardbound soul

#NaPoWriMo 2016 Challenge – Day 11

Day 11’s challenge via NaPoWriMo Website  was to write a poem a in which you closely describe an object or place, and then end with a much more abstract line that doesn’t seemingly have anything to do with that object or place, but which, of course, really does.
