fake title: The Stable Incident
Right, so. This oneās lemony, isnāt it? Geralt catches Jaskier up to some kinda Lewd Behaviour in a stable. Theyāre staying in a big city - or maybe even with some Lord, or evenĀ Jaskierās family - and thereās more stables than there are horses and he knows Roach is in oneĀ of them but he doesnāt know, precisely, which.
So he follows the most familiar smell and opens the door and where heās expectingĀ to see the Best and Goodest Horse is, in fact, Jaskier down on his knees in front of the bloke who runs the stables and they both appear to be having a rather Good and Enthusiastic time and Geralt - who knowsĀ that Jaskier is into men but has never actually been presented with that fact quite so evidently - just - kinda -- oh
And he doesnāt realise that heās frozen in the doorway, staring, until the stable masterās head snaps around and his eyes go wide and then, horror of horrors, JaskierĀ looks up too and Geralt fucking books it, because what else is he going to do??
That should be it. Itās nothing. It is not a Big Deal. Heās walked in on Jaskier in compromising positions before and he knows full damn well what heās been up to when he returns to him on an evening - or a morning - stinking of sex and sweat. But thatās notĀ it, because he canāt get that image out of his head, and heās only ever caught Jaskier with women before, and every time he has a moment to himself all he can think is--
He wishes it had been him.
And thatās worse, thatās worseĀ than shock, because it comes with guilt and fear and secrets and suddenly heās looking at Jaskier in a whole new way. And Jaskier can sense it too, he knows, because heāsĀ acting differently too, and Geralt is deeply aware of how close he is to losing the single, consistent friendship heās got over a fuckingĀ blowjob.
It all comes to a head* after two weeks, when he receives a note saying that thereās been some incident in the stables - something about his horse - and he needs to go right away, needs to be there - and Geralt, of course, rushes down and flings open the door to the stable he was directed to and-Ā
Itās empty. And then he hears the door shut behind him and the bolt slide, locking him in, and he turns, slowly - because this is clearlyĀ a trap and he foolishly left his swords in the keep - to see Jaskier, and even in the darkness of the stable he can see his eyes sparkling as he steps towards him, licking his lips.
