Here's a random thought: I wonder how did Willy come to find out about the hover flies? The people were all too eager to eat microscopic flies 😆
We know Willy's a freak (affectionately) and going by the line about cannibalism from the 2005 movie, I have some thoughts.
My thoughts are: 1.) He can't read, so did he rely on gathering all the info about hoverflies through word-of-mouth? Leaving the question how much of it is true. Are the facts about hoverflies solely what he was told, not just what he experienced?
2.) OR did he find it all out after trying it himself, on himself? He timed it and everything. Did he have a friend who's knowledgeable about microscopic organisms and helped figure it all out,
3.) OR (Because he was likely living on a ship at the time and was younger) did some sailor piss Willy off and then secretly became the subject of this hover flies trials and experiments?
Additional question: You think Willy has actually tasted human flesh before, while on his travels and living on ships?
