They had been in their room with Barty and Evan cuddling and asleep on their side of the bed when the idea popped in Sirius’ mind. It had been their partners’ turn to visit and stay the night. Sirius was lying half-way on top of Remus, pleased and sated, lips travelling back and forth on his neck. Here and there he sucked the soft point under Remus’ jaw or softly nosed his skin, still terribly awake after the round of messy sex they had. “I want one too,” he had whispered then, eyes fixed on the hand Evan had lost in Barty’s hair in his sleep. Remus had caught his gaze on the other couple’s tattooed wedding bands too many times to ask what he really meant. Since the day Sirius learned what the tattoo represented, it had been a fixation of his own. As if it never occured to him before that some people would be so true to their love that they would get them engraved on their skin. With his hand, Remus brushed back an unruly black curl and asked, “Why now?” “It really turns me on…” Sirius groaned at Remus’ quiet laugh. “Not funny. It does.” “Yeah, I know that. I have eyes. Why asking now?” “You know I don’t want to marry… or I think so,” Sirius trailed off after he pondered the question in his head. “But they made me realise we didn’t need that to be sure. And I’m so sure of you, Moony, I could die.”
