Did you know that wolves play a critical and vital role in nature. They are a keystone species that help to keep nature in balance! They have even been proven to change the shape of the landscape in a good way!
Here are some fun facts about wolves - They arent as big and bad as you all thought!
🐺Wolves howls are like fingerprints. Other pack members use them to tell certain animals apart. They howl for many different reasons including to hunt, bring the pack together, as well as to warn other packs they are there.

🐺There are three species of wolves in the world: gray, red and Ethiopian
🐺Wolves have the same number of teeth as dogs: 42!
🐺Wolves are thought to have been first tamed in East Asia about 15,000 years ago.
🐺Adult gray wolves range from 40 to 175 pounds but most wild wolves captured and collared are no more than 90 pounds.
🐺Wolves can sprint 36 to 38 miles per hour for short distances. They trot at 5 miles per hour.
🐺Average paw size is 4 to 5 inches long!
🐺Their favorite meal is ungulates!
🐺The average life span of wolves in the wild is about 6 years. In captivity it is much longer. Human activity, starvation, and injuries are the leading cause of death in wild wolves.

🐺They have a bite force of about 400 to 1200 pounds per square inch. Thats a lot of power!
