“I paint you, you treat me”
I kept forgetting to post this cause I’ve been so busy, but this was my gift for the ever so lovely @sincerelywhistler ‘s birthday not so long ago of their Misery Demon OC (and loml) Wolf-Rayet<3
One of the best people I’ve gotten to meet since joining this fandom. Who knew being cool, sexy, mysterious, hilarious, and creative could all fit into one person am I right?
The Dolphin Head Nebula, Sh2-308 // TRE
WR 134 Reprocessed !
WR (Wolf-Rayet) 134 is a very faint bubble caused by the intense radiation of a hot star located in the constellation Cygnus. The star causing the bow shock seen here has a surface temperature of over 60,000 degrees Kelvin. It's energetic stellar winds cause surrounding gas and dust to become ionized, showing beautiful reds (hydrogen) and blues (oxygen).
This target is fairly challenging for a suburban astrophotographer due to it's very low brightness. The image here is the result of 24 hours of imaging time from my backyard in a Bortle 7/8 city.
Taken with an Askar 80PHQ, Skywatcher EQ6R pro, and ZWO 533MC pro. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight.

Thor's Helmet Nebula
Although to be fair, I thought it looked like a Jelly fish in space, but maybe I've been watching too much Star Trek recently.
Otherwise known as NGC 2359, it is 12,000 light years from Earth in the constellation of Canis Major, the nebula is actually a bubble of material blown from a central Wolf-Rayet star (which you can see near the centre of the bubble). These stars produce huge amounts of material in their winds and periodically nova and throw off large amounts of their atmosphere's.
The star will ultimately go supernova, but for now, it's bubble and surrounding nebula inspire the Norse Gods.
The Asymmetric Nebula Surrounding Wolf-Rayet Star 18
Located 12,000 light years away near the Carina constellation, and the nebula is 75 light years across. The star, Wolf-Rayet or WR-18, is located in the centre.
