Cory trudged up the steps to Ilvermorny, carrying a box full of plants that the headmaster had ordered to decorate the great hall for the gala. He knew he was cutting it close, but some last minute customers had prevented him from setting off for the school earlier. He knew he could have just had the plants shipped, but had decided that he wanted to deliver the plants in person. He’d told himself it was to ensure that they arrived there safely, but the truth was he’d just got resist popping in and at least getting a look at Winnie.
He entered the hall, and after finding someone to deliver the plants to, looked around. Despite the event not starting for another hour at least, there were already several students milling about, but none of them were her. Cory sighed and turned to the door, deciding he should just leave when the sound of stop steps reached his ear. He turned around and froze. Winnie had just entered the room and she was even more stunning than he had imagined.
