I’m explaining what being gay is like to my friend because he’s having a hard time with subcultures and stuff and he said he didn’t like it “as a subculture” because it feels like its just someone screaming “ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US” really loud in a billion posts and he hates it. And so I admitted it’s a lot like that, but also it’s like being a dog and seeing another dog in the park and going “Dog? Dog!” and freaking out, because a lot of us are closeted, or from small areas, and its kinda messy so finding another gay person is really exciting. He said that made a lot more sense because he’s more familiar with the fetishiezed version of lgbtq that the media and pop culture presents rather than the, bunch of awkward people hoping for human connection part. It’s kinda nice actually. 

I know it’s cliche but if a girl wrapped herself in ribbon or just put a bow on her head and said she was my christmas/birthday/etc gift then spent the whole day with me I would marry her on the spot
