“oh, i believe you… believe.” it’s the nicest way she could tell her that flowers have meaning. they’re gorgeous, sure, but really? a waste of money. that, of course, isn’t something she could tell to a florist she considers a friend. “you do you, boo.”

"mmm. just what i like to hear. trouble and kissing me again. you know the way to my heart." the word 'heart' was dragged out, something hidden in that. there's a joke, of course. heart would imply something deeper and aleera wasn't exactly ready to love anything or anyone quite yet. "but if you want another kiss, feel free to take one. i really don't mind."

blair sighed. deep and heavy and turned her vision away from the other for a moment. "had to go and fight with her on a night i decided to wear heels. might be the dumbest idea i've ever had." not that blair had spent a lot of time thinking about the situation while it happened. the fury had risen up quickly. "yeah. yeah, you can walk me home. two better than one for sure. just not happy about it."

"-and yet it is so easy. i do love not having to crane my neck down to someone for once," violet started and then crossed their arms over their chest. the eyeroll that followed was somewhere between serious and joking. "come on teresa. we both know that you're smarter than this. doing all of that-" the normally teasing attitude starting to turn more into a 'mom mode.' "-weren't you two broken up?"

"are roses too obvious?" he asks, trying to decide what kind of flowers to get for iris' birthday. maybe it's too romantic, maybe just romantic enough. then again, he's not the florist. "should i go with tulips instead?" that seems worse, somehow.

"i can..." her vision is blurry and her head feels like it's been hit with a brick. "i can see fingers, yes." however, asking her to count them is an entirely different story.
