So a friend and I were confused by how Credence could be the brother of Albus, sooo we did some math.

Dumbledore was born in 1881, so in the mid 20's he is in his mid 40s. That we understand. However credence is significantly younger.

Ariana, Dumbledore's sister (4 years younger than him) died in 1899 at the age of 14. Their mother died the same year. Their dad went to Azkaban and died there after ariana was attacked by some boys. So the last time that their mother and father could produce a child was in 1891. Making Credence 10 years younger than Albus Dumbledore. This makes no sense. Credence should be in his early 20s in the crimes of Grindelwald. Even if their father hooked up before he died (about 1999), making credence 10-20 years younger than dumbledore, it doesn't add up.

Either Grindelwald is a big fat liar, or J.K. is confused by her own story. As usual.
