The beast crunched through the bones with little effort, splintering, burning, and eventually eating what is arguably the least edible part of any animal along with the meat and hide. The beast seems totally relaxed as it eats its meal, and why wouldn’t it be? It’s the biggest, strongest, scariest thing in this forest and it knows it! It’s only natural that it would fail to catch the sound of the disgusted elf child, dismissing it as yet another non-threat in its forest.
Of course, it doesn’t need to acknowledge the sound... It just needs to catch the scent. Soon enough, the monster has lifted its maw away from the remains of its meal to sniff at the air. Its tail wags slightly as it gets up and looks for the source of this familiar scent. If Lup doesn’t want to get discovered, she’ll need to hide quickly.
