These creatures come from a far off plane, no one has ever seen. They are completely alien, their shape nothing more than condensed energy. Because of this, dealing with them is extremely dangerous. Most magic just washes over these creatures and is redirected at those who cast it.

Archmages study the intricate balance of magic searching for these strange anomalies. Months, years, even centuries can pass before another one of these creatures finds their way to the prime plane. No matter what powerful wizards try, these creatures always slip through the cracks between the planes, allowing them to appear anywhere.

Most wizards shy away from fighting these creatures because of their magic resistant bodies. However, most are quick to send others to deal with them, worried about what might happen should these creatures be allowed to consume too much magic.
