This song is about my love for adventure and being on the road. Roadrunner is a rap single with a more melodic touch, the hook has a pop vibe inviting the listeners to not take life so seriously and have fun. The beat has a futuristic yet Retrowave style that will definitely leave an impression on you, as I'm careful when selecting beats, making sure they are on another level. This song was written in probably one night and i'm very satisfied with combining EDM with rap. I just wanted to have fun when songwriting it and I hope you feel the same way about it.

Electronic dance music (EDM) festivals are becoming progressively more mainstream on social media. Because of this, a growing number of people have jumped to conclude that EDM festival-goers are sexual characters solely there to party and show off their good looks. As a woman who participates in rave culture by dressing up and attending EDM festivals, I am saddened by the negative stigmas people have attached to our community. Unfortunately, women are constantly criticized, oversexualized, and even alienated for participating in the festival lifestyle and dressing the way they please.
Instead of shining the spotlight on the talented artists and their productions, the focus has shifted to the ‘sexy’ rave girls. Not only does this defeat the whole purpose of attending a festival, but it is also responsible for creating negative attitudes toward women in the rave community. Women should be allowed to wear what they feel comfortable with without being oversexualized. The rave scene is slowly transforming into a sexually charged environment that takes away from the music and makes women uncomfortable and unsafe. In some cases, women are even sexually assaulted because people view their outfits as an invitation. The article linked reveals the sad reality of what women experience. The place many call home is progressively getting scarier, and people have lost focus on why they choose to attend in the first place. Music!
Rave clothing companies, such as The Rave Box, were even at risk of losing their business because people claimed rave outfits were “sex outfits” that shouldn’t be allowed to be purchased or worn in public. They created this petition to gain as many signatures to restore their business license. You can sign, too, to show your support for the rave business that allows us to choose what we want to wear!
The main reason I continue to attend festivals is because of the many EDM artists that have inspired me and made an incredible impact on me. Expressing myself through rave clothing is just something that comes with attending festivals and rave culture. I love dressing up in colorful and crazy outfits, and I want to be able to do so freely. The main point of raving is to experience live music free of judgment! PLUR (peace, love, unity, and respect) needs to be restored, so people can fully enjoy EDM festivals again! ☮
