@withoutpeer // obi-wan.
the sieges in the outer rim had been months longer than padmƩ had anticipated, particularly to go so long without contact... she had spent far too many restless nights worried, thinking about how anakin, & of course obi-wan were all faring. turbulence on coruscant only seemed to be growing as things worsened across the galaxy, her own internal sense of turmoil included. she could not have been more relieved to know that they were both back in one piece. it did nothing for her worries of the senate's future, which seemed to be more & more fragile with each passing of emergency power to chancellor palpatine. but that was not conversation for an open hallway - nor a priority for the first time she'd seen him in months.
"obi-wan. i cannot exaggerate how good it is to see you." padmƩ greeted him with a warm smile despite the weariness in her body, hands folding carefully in front of her stomach. the skirt of her dress forces some distance between them, cascading intentionally to hide her silhouette. "tell me you can make time for a cup of tea. i won't take no for an answer."
