With this nonprofit organization we often reach out to centers and groups who are in need and see if there is any way in which we can help. One individual that especially stood out to me was a woman who shared her story of once being an addict and living a life she was no longer proud. While she has changed her life for the better, she is left to deal with all of the consequences of her past life. Her medical bills are ever growing and she struggles to find work due to her handicaps. While she works as much as she can, she struggles to make ends meet. This is where her support group comes in but even they struggle to raise the money needed. After sharing this with our board, this charity felt it right in their hearts to help this woman. Our usual field work ended up truly helping someone in need and if it were not our mission to seek to help anywhere in any way we could, this woman would have still been struggling. I feel blessed to be able to help and wish to have more experiences like this as I volunteer more and more and With Causes continues to be the amazing nonprofit it is.
