For me, when I moisturize after showering, I recite Psalm 23 while rubbing in my face moisturizer:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Amen."

And then when I moisturize my hands and arms and whatever else, I recite this thing that I pieced together from a few different psalms:

"I am like a tree planted beside streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither; everything i do prospers. Wealth and riches are in my house; my year is crowned with bounty; my carts overflow with abundance. For the Lord will satisfy the hungry soul, and the needy soul he will fill with good things. Amen."

I love Yule. Even before I began vibing with the Wheel of the Year, I've always felt the power and beauty of this time of darkness, lit only by candles to guide us through the shortest days and darkest nights.

I've privately celebrated Yule for a few years now and I've had some profound experiences doing so. I light the Yule candle as the winter solstice sun sets, carrying that light into the Longest Night.

And like I do at other points on the Wheel, I'll also deal out a Tarot spread. This year's reading was more general than personal, so I'll talk about it in more depth under the cut.
