🌙 Have they ever had a one night stand?
Oh gods no. Mari doesn’t do casual sex at all, which was the crux of her problems with Izzy. The closest she’s ever come was a night or two at the Blooming Rose, but that was more because Izzy talked her into it. Mari’s very self-conscious when it comes to sex (like everything else), and gets very strong emotional attachments from it.
👶 Do they want children?
Mari’s incredibly ambivalent about it. It’s not that she doesn’t like children–she adores them actually, and has always been really good with them–but it’s the idea of being a parent that frightens her. Leandra wasn’t the best model of motherhood, even though once she’s gone Mari starts to realize that she did her best, it’s just depression is a beast–dealing with her own taught her that. And that scares her too, because Mari saw her mother go through PPD after the twins were born, when Mari was a little kid and didn’t understand why Mum was so listless and unresponsive. So there’s a real fear of fucking up her potential kids from that.
The thing is, Mari doesn’t get much say in the matter, once she marries Sebastian. The Vael line must continue, and seeing as Sebastian’s the last of it…(Goran is executed for treason when they retake Starkhaven) well, people in Starkhaven are rightfully paranoid and anxious about it. The difference is Mari has a much better support system than Leandra did, and doesn’t have the added pressures of hiding a pair of mage children from the templars.
She ends up having three kids total, post-da:i. Two girls (Anastasia Isabel and Veronica Phaedra) by Fenris and a boy (Fabian Leto) by Sebastian. Unbeknownst to nearly everyone, Anastasia was conceived at Skyhold, and Mari was actually two months pregnant with her during the siege and final battle with Cory. She’s just that badass.
