Magickal correspondence is one way that we can enhance the effectiveness of our rituals and forge a deeper connection with the subtle forces around us. Learning the occult correspondences, or the hidden qualities of things is like learning a new language, the secret language of Nature. Once you become accustomed to the way this language works you will start to notice patterns, and the spirits in the natural world will begin to speak to you. Plants are a perfect example of magical correspondence in action. Plants communicate differently than other sentient beings, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have a lot to say. By learning some of the traditional systems of magickal correspondence we can discover new uses for herbs that we are familiar with, and through plant spirit communication, divine the uses of unfamiliar plants too! There are many different systems that can be applied with success, and we will discuss the doctrine of signatures, planetary, elemental and astrological correspondences which will give attendees the tools to identify a plant’s properties on their own. I am so excited to announce that @thehouseoftwigs School of Ritual is about to become the new home of my newest and most extensive course! I have been working behind the scenes getting all of the material together, and we will be making an announcement as to when this course will be available. The course is all online and self-paced. There are different sections with multi-media lessons and practical applications. This class is all about the Poison Path. It is geared toward magical practice and esoteric herbalism, but will cover topics like ethnobotany, phytochemistry, alkaloids and use. There will be a major focus on the use of these plants in magical practice and as plant spirit medicine. We will explore the occult correspondences and entheogenic applications for many of the key plants in this practice. By the end of this course the student will have a clear understanding of what can be gained from the Poison Path, and what that actually means. They will be able to identify and describe the magical and ritual uses of a variety of baneful herbs as well as thei wntheigenic properties. Students will be given a framework upon which they will be able to build their own practice using the powerful botanical allies.
