I was poking around my Drive and found the doc to this fic. Then I found the actual fic on AO3, buried in my archive. What a sweet read this is, even after all these years. So many witchy fall vibes.

Buttons & Spoons: J2

Jared comes from a long line of Witches and Jensen was brought up in the world of the non-magical Mundanes.

(Headcanons for an AU in which the DEH boys all use magic of some kind and run a witch shop together...strap in, this is gonna be a long post)

I like to think each boy kind of has two "specialties" when it comes to magic.

Evan:

-Evan specializes in plant magic

-Plants that never need to be watered as they grow, tree saplings that grow overnight, charms that can be placed on trees so they open a door wherever you need to go, desk plants that change based on the weather or season, magical 4-leaf clovers, etc.

-obvious as it is

-But he also uses healing magic

-He probably picked it up from Heidi (a witch nurse at a magic hospital)

-Really came in handy when he broke his arm

-He's managed to combine these two types of magic into magical healing teas

-Like special teas that cure ailments (magical and regular) and help injuries heal faster and stuff like that

-But also like special salves and stuff that can help small cuts heal up in a matter of seconds and help scars to fade, bandages that wrap themselves, etc.

-Heidi absolutely uses her sons products at work and brags about him to her coworkers

Connor:

-Connor's specialty is animals

-He helps young witches find their first familiar

-Connor's is a black raven named Lucy

-He also helps create/sell/enchant magical items for pet owners

-Magical collars that will always help your pet return home if they get lost, food bowls that magically refill when it's time for your pet to eat, training items to help even the oldest of dogs learn new tricks, pet translators (cuz why not), etc.

-Connor loves animals, and I like to think he let Zoe put a small braid in his hair decorated with one of Lucy's feathers

-Aside from that, Connor is a master of glamour and beauty magic

-(somewhat in line with my hc that Connor would totally be a pro with makeup)

-Spells to change the color of something, charmed makeup brushes that apply product flawlessly, anti-aging creams that are ACTUAL anti-aging, magical makeup that matches any outfit, perfume that attracts whoever you think of when you apply it, lotion that keeps your skin soft for a week before you need to reapply, etc.

-I could go on but this is getting to be a long list already

-Connor is pretty much known as THE WITCH to go to if you wanna look your best

-He'd never admit it, but he's very proud of that, no matter how much Jared teases him about it

(Speak of the devil...)

Jared:

-His main specialty is technological magic

-Special modems that allow users to access the magical Internet, portable phone chargers that never get lost or break, flash drives with unlimited storage, power banks that never need to be recharged between uses, etc.

-He only works at the magic shop part time because he also has a non-magical job of building and fixing PCs for people

-(The boys gotta pay rent on their apartment somehow)

-Oddly enough, he gets plenty of orders from other witches who somehow managed to magically fuck up their computers

-Viruses that caused actual plants to grow in their computer or an accidental charm where opening the Internet only brings them to the video of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up"

-Which led him to the idea of his other magical specialty

-Prank magic

-In which he is essentially the Weasley twins from Harry Potter

-Magical joke items, sick candies, fireworks, etc.

-Some specific ideas might include a charm that gets a song stuck in someone's head, Polaroid cameras with pictures that upon first glance make the subject of the photo look bigger than they actually are (but the photo returns to normal after a minute or so), or a self-inflating whoopie cushion

-We all know Klein-meme would be the king of joke magic
