SUNSOFT announces car chase action revival ROUTE-16R for Switch, PC alongside classic re-releases - Gematsu
Publisher SUNSOFT and developer Wit One have announced ROUTE-16R, a new entry in the classic ROUTE-16 series originally released in the 1980s. It will launch for Switch and PC via Steam on August 6 for 3,300 yen.
Additionally, the following two classic ROUTE-16 titles will also be available:
ROUTE-16Â (Switch) â 814 yen
ROUTE-16 TURBOÂ (PS5, Switch, PC [Steam]) â 1,540 yen
In Japan, a ROUTE-16 COLLECTION will also be for Switch. It will cost 5,478 yen for the physical edition and 4,730 yen for the digital edition. It includes ROUTE-16R, ROUTE-16, and ROUTE-16 TURBO.

About
ROUTE-16R is a brand-new entry in the classic ROUTE-16 series, originally released in the 1980s. Avoid enemy vehicles and monsters as you race through the stage, collecting every item scattered across the maze. Switch dynamically between Maze Mode, where you navigate intricate labyrinths filled with traps and gimmicks, and Radar Mode, which reveals the entire stage made up of 16 mazes-delivering a high-speed chase experience that surpasses the original games.

Collecting all items wonât end the stage-doing so will trigger a boss encounter.
Bosses unleash intense attacks to corner MAD X-R.
Dodge their assaults, find openings in their defenses, and strike back by transforming into robot form to deal decisive damage!

Multiplayer mode is included for the first time in the series.
Compete in a mini-game where players battle to capture the flag.
Enjoy fast-paced, arcade-style chase action with friends and family!
