Crystal Star Copper Wire Wrapped Pendant
Pendant wire wrapped in pure copper with a touch of brass. To add contrast and depth to the wire weaves, the copper pendant was treated with an antique finish. In the center of the pendant is a round, slightly iridescent crystal bead.
I’m really proud of this octopus. I made it as my application for the Arisia art show back when we were still hoping it’d be able to be a physical event. Understandably it won’t be, things and people being what they are, so it’s going on etsy. We’ll find out if there’s a market for higher end cephalopod jewelry I guess!
It’s antiqued copper with a fossil coral head and a pearl eye, hanging from a pearl necklace. Some days I call it Sea Change, because I always liked Ariel’s song from the tempest, so it comes to mind whenever I make anything with coral and pearl, but the way this year is going sometimes it’s more like Barely Hanging On...
(Honestly I’d totally be keeping this piece if I didn’t react poorly to copper. I’m not enough of a professional to gracefully let go of favorite pieces!)
