I was really disappointed when the cards weren't right because I thought them being more fandom-y would help me learn them. And NGL I was completely prepared to talk about them as art pieces if I got sideeyed too hard.
tbh if you want a fandomy deck to help you actually learn better? go for the LOTR ones
there's a ridiculous number of them out there going back years and years before the movies were even thought of, so I can't even recommend a single one in particular, but as someone with a morbid fascination with fandomy decks and likes to collect and experiment with them, I've yet to really see an LOTR deck that wasn't excellent for actual reading and meditation, designed with practice in mind instead of just ~pretty art~ of characters
it helps that there has always been a huge overlap between Tolkien enthusiasts and practicing witches/occultists (which is hilarious considering his own views)
