A look back at windows when it was 10 years old, written in 2000. Describes some differences between win16 and win32.
Old, meet new!
template<typename base, size_t size> int GetPrivateProfileString(const char* section, const char* key, const char* defaultVal, base (&result)[size], const char* iniFile) { return GetPrivateProfileString(section, key, defaultVal, result, size, iniFile); }
Combining the Win16 API with modern C++ is fun! With this template function, you no longer have to pass sizeof result; the compiler can figure this out itself.
The STL uses the same pattern to provide range access to native arrays (in bits/range_access.h).
Win #16 - Nightlord Tickets!!
Win # 16. (569). Ents24 (E) – Nightlord Tickets
You recently entered the Ents24/Nightlord competition to see NIGHTLORD + HYSTERICA + STUKA SQUADRON + DESIGNS OF CHAOS, and I'm happy to reveal that you have won a pair of tickets to the show this Saturday, 19th November at the Underworld in Camden.
When I win gig tickets, I always make sure to check out the bands first. On this occasion, I'm very glad that I did:
Stuka Squadron - the world's sole New Wave of Undead British Heavy Metal (NWOUBHM) band according to Terrorizer magazine, will showcase material from their increasingly admired debut album Tales of the Ost. Expect a bloody malestrom of sword-wieldingi vampiric Metal terror from 'the true masters of the art of war'
Er...
Vampiric?!
I’m not expecting a musical interpretation of moody love story about a confused girl with a fetish for animals and a fanged glitter covered emo boy.
I’m currently reading my way though Del Toro and Hogan’s excellent ‘The Strain’ trilogy. I highly recommend that Twilight fans introduce yourselves to this epic Vampire story, though, make sure you stock up on enough food to see you through your post read fear of leaving the house.
Much like the Strain, I’m expecting the night to be a macabre and blood thirsty horror fest with possible human sacrifice.
Anyone have Setrakian’s number?
