Laughing together, there was a sense of comfort between them, in which Will made a decision he’d been trying to finalise since Thanksgiving. It felt like it had been enough time, and if Robin’s wisdom had any truth to it, Will felt more confident about this than he had done in his entire life. “Mike… can I tell you something? Something I've been holding on to for far too long?” Biting his lip momentarily as a physical way to stop himself from talking too much, Will looked at Mike with pleading eyes. “You can tell me anything. I'll always listen.” With his back turned to the shadow of a man tormenting his mind, Mike felt the tingle along his spine as if someone had come closer to him, leaned against him and was about to whisper in his ear. It took an incredible amount of willpower for Mike to not react, hating the sensation with every fibre of his body. He just wanted to listen to whatever Will had to say. He wanted to be the best boyfriend that Will deserved. Blushing lightly, the change of tone in his cheeks mostly hidden by the darkening sky, Will felt his nerves rise again, causing him to fumble his words somewhat. “Well, you were right about the kids.” He began, as talking about someone else was always easier than talking about himself. “And thinking about the future for them, how they want to stay with us both and all… I-I want that too. Not just for them, but for me. With you-” Immediately burying his face in his hands, Will groaned loudly at his own incompetence. “God why is this so hard?” He was an artist dammit, words were always Mike’s thing…
