“C’mon!  It’ll be fun,” you insist as you stare at the two no-fun-at-all lumps across the table from you.   The Losers and their significant others were all piled at a corner table in their usual bar.  You wave at your waitress, drawing a circle over the group to ask for another round.  

Jake’s hands on your hips tighten as he leans forward, pressing your stomach to the table as he shouts to be heard. “We can always come back here afterwards,” he suggests as a way to placate the two oldest members of the team.  

“You two aren’t gonna use this as an opportunity-“

“No!” You and Jake both interrupted Pooch .  You felt your cheeks flame as Jake’s dick hardened under you.   “For the last time, that was one time!” you counter. “Besides you had told us you weren’t coming. So it’s your own fault you saw that.”

“Trust me the memory of Jensen’s naked ass burned onto my brain is very good insurance that I won’t let that happen again,” Pooch shared. “In that ridiculous pirate hat,” he muttered under his breath 

“So you are the woman behind those wonderful cookies we had to pry out of Jensen’s hands over in the desert, ” Clay teased after Jake introduced you to the team for the first time.  “Man was not up for sharing, and I mean I can understand why, they were lovely, sweetheart.  Just perfect.”

You glanced over at your best friend who’s cheeks and ear tips were reddening more with each passing second.  You were unsure how to take the teasing from his CO, nor what to make of Jake’s aww-shucks-staring-at-his-boots response.  

“Do us all a favor, sweetheart?”  

Your eyes reverted from Jake back to the man in the disheveled shirt and dress jacket that somehow suited him, even though you had only heard stories up until this moment.  “Yes sir?” you ask.  

“Marry this fool, wouldya?”

“What-” Both you and Jake echo, glancing at each other briefly before your eyes snapped back to Clay.  

“C’mon, this best friends game has gotten old, don’t you think?” he insisted, taking a sip from his beer.  

“LIke you are one to be handing out relationship advice?” Roque chimed in, his voice full of humor.  “How many women have you gone through in the last, I don't know, month?”

Clay waved his hand through the air and you relaxed a hair as the focus turned away from you and Jake as the two older men debated Clay’s merit in such a department.  You snuck a glance at your best friend out of the corner of your eye, watching him rub his hand across the back of his neck, still staring at his feet.  There is no way Jake felt the same way about you that you felt about him right?  This was just his commanding officer giving him a raft of shit because he was lacking in finding female companionship right?

But fuck look at him.  What woman wouldn’t be falling over themselves to get to him?  You couldn’t be the only woman who found him adorably attractive, surely he had found other women.  He just wasn’t comfortable talking to you about it because of your shared history.  And you were like a sister to him, even though....

“Y’all already slept together, and from what Jensen said....” Clay let out a soft whistle.  You turned to look at your supposed best friend with your arms crossed, anger all but blowing out of your ears.  “Really?  Did he now?”  the words dripped from your tongue with irritation and disbelief.  You were going to kill him.
