11. Three tropes that are fine but overrated.
oh hmm... i think the soulmate trope is maybe a bit overrated (can be very good, but like, it has to be done in a certain way for me to enjoy it). and then maybe. this is probably just because i've gotten. too old for it, but hs aus are a bit overrated, i think. and uhhhhhhhhhh.... flowershop/tattoo parlor aus? i guess? i just don't. get it. i guess it could work as a premise if. the plot is good but. i just don't get the hype?
30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

OH which one to choose!! i once almost started writing a sechal fic set during the 2022 season, that was just about... charles was sad (ferrari underperforming, childhood dream slipping from his fingers) and coping with it by. going out a lot and sleeping around, not really. talking about it with anyone. seb was sad (newly divorced, aston martin underperforming, is-this-the-end-of-my-career? type feelings). but seb was definitely coping with it in a better way than charles. uhh seb eventually like. picked up on the fact that maybe charles wasn't doing GREAT and in an attempt to. encourage him to NOT go out after every race, invites him to go for a run with him instead. this then became a regular thing, where they'd go for runs (to get rid of excess adrenaline shhh it. makes sense) and then eventually also. talked, opened up about things.
it was SUPER fleshed out in my head tbh but i never got around to starting it!! it also included like. conversations about sexuality, seb going out w the younger drivers once and seeing charles hooking up w a guy that was just the POLAR opposite of seb. seb feeling guilty about his feelings for charles (for a multitude of reasons, but also bc of his divorce and complicated feelings re that.) and then like, when one of them made the first move, it would end terribly (if it was seb- charles would reject him because he's started to not feel Great about sex. if it was charles- seb would reject him because he felt guilty. a lot of miscommunication in general, lmao see my answer for the first q😭)

“I’m good at it,” Charles says after a while, with a faint shrug. “I like being good at things.”
Seb hums thoughtfully, carding his fingers through Charles’ hair where his head is resting in his lap. “You don’t always have to be good at things, you know,” he says, after a while. “Sometimes you’re allowed to just… Be.”
(=the it that charles is good at here is sex)
“What are you sad about?” Seb asks, frowning slightly.
“Nothing,” Charles says, a sad smile appearing on his face. There’s a pause, and then, “Everything.”
