Eric McCormack Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson
Will and Vicki. The virgin Walden/Abelson voyage. If youāre gonna break the almost 3 yrs to the day pandemic Zoom streak, and do a first Live in person from the new digs, how better than with handsome, charming, fabulous, Emmy, SAG, and GLAAD Award Winning, Eric McCormack? Couldnāt be done. If youāre gonna look into a set of eyeballs, share rarefied air, lotsa laughs, and some snacks, wellā¦it doesnāt get better than this. Thank you, Loren Gold for putting up with my incessant begging and pleading and making this happen.Ā
Exceeding all expectations, Eric was easy, expressive, talented (he did accents, impressions, and sang a teeny bit), and crazy fun. Stories, stories, and more stories, one better than the last. When we wrapped and Ericās fab assistant, Michelle Loparo, said some of said stories were new to her, well, score! From his early days in Toronto, school plays with David Furnish, no, really! Day jobs at Baskin Robbins, and a gas station, his fatherās secret revealed, childhood heroes and how one blew Ericās adult mind, five years doing Shakespeare in rep, breaking into TV, Lonesome Dove, meeting his unlikely perfect partner, manifesting his highest dreamāāauditioning for James Burrows, landing the part that would change his life, Will and Grace fun, bringing childhood imagings to life⦠Freddy Mercury, Barry Manilow, Elton John, starring on Broadway in The Music Man, turning serious⦠Travelers (Netflix- 3 seasons to binge), the upcoming, Departure (Peacock), Slasher (AMC), The Other Black Girl (Hulu) the acclaimed Drinkwater (Canadian Prime, soon here), plus another Broadway turn, The Cottage, directed by his great friend, Game Changers alum, Jason Alexander, coming this summer, and, as if that tāwerenāt enough, two podcasts soon to drop, one, Eating Out, with his pal, Steven Weber, a Women Who Write alum, and Just Jack and Will with his great friend Sean Hayes. Iām exhausted typing it, let alone this indefatigable man living it all, no doubt, brilliantly.Ā
There are more stories, unmentioned. Tasty treats reenacted to delight. Iām still basking in the glow, wondering how Iāll ever Zoom again. Eric McCormack has ruined me for pandemic worry. What a way to break free. Whee!Ā

Today, Live from my living room, Emmy, SAG, and GLAAD Award Winner, Eric McCormack. WHAT? I know! *faints dead away*
I don't have time to write liner notes, I have to lose 10 pounds, get a facelift, bake cookies, try on everything in my closet, and clean the bathroom.Ā
Suffice it to say that Will Truman will be in the house... we will be talking about that, about Lonesome Dove, Travelers, Drinkwater, Departure, Slasher, The Other Black Girl (now that's a departure!), A Little Night Music, heading to Broadway under Jason Aexander's direction in The Cottage, and to the podcast world with Steven Weber in Eating Out, and with Jack, I mean Sean Hayes in Just Jack and Will. Not to mention chit-chat about Barry, Loren, Linda, Freddy, Elton... so much more to be revealed... if my fan girl jelly brain functions.Ā
We'll be taking questions, please make them good, and don't embarrass me in front of HIM. I'll be taking care of that all by myself.Ā

SAD NEWS: Leslie Jordan, the actor who rose to fame on Will & Grace as the caustic frenemy of Megan Mullallyās Karen Walker, died in a single-car crash in Hollywood today. He was 67. According to the LAPD, a driver, likely suffering a medical emergency, drove a car into a wall at the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street around 9:30 a.m. today. Jordan reportedly died at the scene. The Los Angeles Times has confirmed the driverās identy as Jordan. "The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan," read a statement issued by the actor's representative David Shaul. "Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times. What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being. Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today." In addition to Will & Grace, Jordan appeared on TV in American Horror Story, Hearts Afire, Murphy Brown, Ugly Betty, and Boston Public. Film credits include The Help and Ski Patrol. He appeared onstage in the comedy Sordid Lives and reprised the role of āBrother Boyā in the 2000 film adaptation. Details surrounding the incident remains under investigation. Up Your Geek extends its condolences to Jordanās family, friends, colleagues and fans. #peaceinparadise #rip #LeslieJordan #Actor #WillAndGrace #Comedian https://www.instagram.com/p/CkG79YbP6DC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
