Why call someone a piece of shit when you can call them an early-stage coprolite?

Mom (B): Rubarb is celery if it knew happiness.
Mom (E): No, never gonna happen. Celery's not able to do that.
Mom (B): Yesā that's why God created rubarb. To make celery feel bad. Because it should. Because it sucks.
i'm simultaneously stuck in edo period japan, the viking era, the renaissance period, 2024, the 1980s, and the 1800s.
Kayne's the type of bastard who would stab you, lick the knife, and then stab you again.
Me and my mom talking about stuff and you know how conversations wander
Land on a topic about a minor historical figure who mom doesn't even remember the name of, and mom says, "I don't know how or why, but deep in my soul, I know that man is a fuck."
Cue silence, which I break with "Now I'm just trying to figure how in the world someone could be a fuck."
Upon reading this post, mom added, "I don't know, but if anyone can do it, that asshole can."

I'm going to be writing for my first ever one of these thingsā national poetry month, āØļøMalevolent EditionāØļø
Today is the theme, 'Miles to go before we sleep', so here you go -- my take on the prompt. Enjoy! (Oh, and go check out the original post, too! It's always fun for people to join in.)
Yet again!! A poem that I've poured out in a surprisingly short amount of time really late at night at a time where I probably should be asleep. Except, this time I'm just winging it. I did brainstorm (like a bit before noon earlier today, so a while ago -- not sure if that still counts) like last time, but I'm just going to type this out straight from my head, no planning, no nothing.
In case you haven't seen my previous post (which you can see all of them with the tag #malpowrimo25 ), this is part of April's thingy, themed around Malevolent!! Today's theme is 'Flame'. I hope you enjoy!
