            he had entertained the idea of running into her, was kind of counting on it, actually. it’s why he had put more effort in looking handsome today than usual - not that it really required much. they’re at a party thrown by his family at their estate to celebrate catherine’s birthday, and although he knew he’d probably be seeing hana today - he hadn’t expected to meet eyes with her during a very intimate moment he was having with a kolache he’d gotten from the refreshment’s table, causing him to get startled and nearly choke. hana’s kind enough to blow him a kiss after the embarrassing display, or maybe the intention was to embarrass him further - but he flashes her a cheesy wink in return. teddy’s hoping that was a smooth enough recovery, because he’s making his way over to her now. “hey, hana. do you mind if i steal a moment alone with you?”

AYDAN:   i  just  got  finished  playing  some  soccer AYDAN:   ngl  i  hurt  someone  pretty  bad  ,,  could  have  fucked  up  my  knee  again AYDAN:   but  i  didn’t AYDAN:   which  i  guess  is  good ??? AYDAN:   idk AYDAN:   should  i  pick  something  up  for  dinner ??  are  you  even  around  or ??

ever since magda could remember, maya had been outshining her. her parents had always tried to force them to be friendly (which of course only pushed them further apart), but they’d also constantly compared magda to the other girl. why can’t you be more like maya? maya is so well-behaved and respectful. try being more like maya! it had all made magda resent her with a vengeance, ignoring her at every social occasion and bad-mouthing her to her friends whenever she got the chance. so now, seeing the girl behind the bar of a dive her friend had dragged her to, a wicked, gloating grin spread across magda’s face. “you’re a bartender now? what happened to being the next female president of the united states?” that was what her parents had seemed to think maya would turn out to be, at least — even if magda had always made it clear she thought it was unlikely. 

“Are you going to Jay’s party on Saturday?” Mateo asks from under the car. His back is supported by a skateboard. A make shift way to get in and out from under the car that’s propped up as easily as possible. His knees bend and he slides himself up, shirtless he uses the bandana in his pocket to wipe his face as he looks up at her. She’s sitting on the hoof of the car, the sunlight around her as he squints up at her, lips open. 

“I haven’t decided if I’m going yet. It’s mom’s night off so dad’s doing some big dinner.” He admits as he sits up, knees spreading as he slides the skateboard back a bit, his back resting against the metal of the car. It’s cooler than he is right now. Looking over his shoulder at her, he’s slightly breathless. 

“The fuck you mean ‘give you a slice’ ?” Daeton asks, his grin undermining the serious and rather harsh tone of his voice. It helps when you have a voice that drips with richness and is bundled together with a sweet Bristol accent. His elbows rest on the messy kitchen table. No cutlery exists beyond messy fingers pulling the slices of pizza from the individual boxes of pizza that are butted up against one another. 

“It’s not my fault you told the guy on the phone the wrong toppings.” Daeton says, smug as can be as he looks across the table at her. She looks sad with that ruined pizza in front of her, dressed in the wrong toppings because she had gotten too excited on the phone making her order. 

He brings the pizza to his lips and takes a hefty bite of his pizza slice which flops in the air with the weight of it. He chews, tucking his food into one cheeck pocket before he opens his mouth again.
