hey guys !! so, there's been some stuff happening behind the scenes that's kind of .. disturbed my willingness and motivation to write here, so i think i'm just going to do a refresh and archive this blog !! d/w, you don't have to do anything, i'll be following back mutuals i'm currently writing with and still intend on writing with as well as carrying threads / drafts over !
@bohemiiia: [ SLEEVES ] ( source ! )
the story so far is this -- teddy’s been dealing with plumbing problems just coming up on two weeks now, and although he’s been trying to solve the problem himself with drano amongst other things, nothing has been working so far. the pipes are clogged, and his landlord won’t pay for the repairs. he’s been trying to get them to deal with it long enough, and he’s just about ready to pull his hair out by the roots by the time he enlists simon’s help. he tries not to ask simon or delegate to simon any tasks that concern manual labor, because he does enough of that at work and teddy resents having him do it at home too. he’d had no choice this time though, letting out a soft sigh as he lingers by the doorway -- ready to offer his limited knowledge and assistance when he sees his lover roll up his sleeves, exposing tan and thick forearms. teddy’s lips part, swallowing. he’s having thoughts, and none of them productive.
“wait. simon, stop,” he calls out, making his way into the bathroom and suddenly hoisting himself on top of the sink countertop, “c’mere. don’t dirty your hands with that... you just finished a shift. i’m going to call that fucking asshole again tomorrow, and threaten to withhold rent or cancel the lease if he doesn’t get things up to code,” teddy tells him, brows furrowed as he reaches his hands out for simon -- fingers itching to touch, soothe in the best way he knows how. he parts his legs to make room for the other man to get close, looping arms around his neck and leaning in to give him a fervored, appreciative kiss. teddy noses at his jaw, inhaling the scent of gasoline and petrichor shakily as he grips tightly at the loose cotton of simon’s shirt, groping at the broad muscle of his back. “your new mission, should you choose to accept it.. is to fix my plumbing. ah, irrigate my pipes?” teddy pulls away slightly to meet the other’s gaze, biting back a sheepish grin as he struggles to make the whole plumber concept sexy.
@lunarpoem: [ STRADDLE ] : while sparring, sender gains the upper hand and pins the receiver in place, straddling their waist in the process. ( source ! ) ( for minkyu !! )
minkyu had a natural curiosity about a lot of things, it seemed -- and teddy’s supernatural strength was no exception. they start out grappling half-heartedly, like bear cubs pushing and pulling each other around the room for the fun of it, teddy not really using his full strength as he grips the fabric of minkyu’s shirt roughly before looping an arm around his shoulders to grab the back of it as well. he’s been trying to keep minkyu at an arm’s length and knock him off balance using mostly his upper- body strength so far, which is probably how the other man manages to catch him off guard by sweeping his legs out from under him. the surface teddy lands on is soft but firm, his back hitting the chaise with all of minkyu’s weight bearing down on him suddenly. if he was capable of having the breath knocked out of him, this would surely do it.
he swallows thickly, shifting slightly underneath the weight as he meets minkyu’s eyes, his gaze intense enough to bore a hole straight through the other man’s head. “do you understand what you’re doing, minkyu-ssi? is it possible you’re more cunning than you look?” teddy is weaker and more irritable than usual, as it’s been a few weeks since he’s last fed -- telling himself this is the only reason he’d allow minkyu to best him. though he knows, even as malnourished as he is right now he could easily turn the tables and overpower minkyu if he wanted. how precarious. does he want? he’d have to know minkyu’s intentions first to know the specifics, the existence of his voracious appetite not the only detail to pay mind to here. “if there’s something you want from me, you should take it. better to ask for forgiveness than permission.. and,” he mutters darkly, lips curving around the words with sly grin, “my offers are always time-sensitive.”
@magicshvps: “ how have you survived all this time on your own? “ ( tedwin ) ( accepting ! )
“that’s a good question,” he says, not without sincerity. but it’s one he tires of answering and it’s not really one he can avoid either, especially when someone is trying to gauge whether he’s a threat or not. before this all happened teddy used to never tire of meeting new people, always having believed there was something beneficial about forging new relationships. he supposes not much has changed in that regard, but he’s had his eyes opened to how transactional human nature could really be. more than he was aware of already, at least. “my good looks and roguish charm are either very appealing or off-putting to most people.” he ducks his head shyly, shoulders lifting with a slight shrug as he meets winnie’s gaze. “do you want the long-winded answer, or should i keep it short and sweet? for convenience?” winnie was scrutinizing his character, but he had homework of his own to do. in a new world filled with non-stop trials and tribulations, any sane and weary human would choose convenience.

❛ i loved the woods best in summer. ❜ teddy to simon / src. @paramcur
the memories he has of teddy, and of their shared, youthful, journey – are all visceral in their recall. it isn’t just the conversations, shouted lively and brimming with jest over lakeside splashes, but the pinch of mosquitoes, the itch of the glaring sun. it’s the heat in the other’s curious eyes, the scratch of gravel and roughened dirt under simon’s toes, the critters singing high beneath the shade. he thinks he’s branded the days for longevity, confident then (and arguably even now – just before the younger man’s returned to face teddy’s unchanging features) that the summers they faced, tan arm against tan arm, would be the best they’d ever had. it’s both embarrassing and a relief, to know that simon might be wrong. “y’ever go back? – same area – same lakeside, same hills. y’ever get the time?” selfishly, he hopes for the shake of teddy’s head. it’s unnerving to feel possessive over a friend, a partner, a confidant of secrets, even after years of distance. maybe it’s because he holds their shared history with gentle hands, treats it precious like something meant to be viewed under glass, maneuvered back to the surface for brief moments of time, when simon is nostalgic for company he cannot have.
teddy’s shared childhood memories with simon are some of the happiest, a warm ray of light in an otherwise bleak and isolating period of time. when even at a young age, he had felt like there was something wrong with him, undiagnosed but non-terminal. unless you’d count disappointing your father terminal. days spent out of his spacious and sterile albeit empty house to go exploring the woods and swimming in the lakes with simon were some of the times he’d felt the most joyful, the most free in his entire life. simon looks exactly the same, but different -- boyishly handsome in the way he’d been throughout the entire time teddy had known him, but looking more adult in the way he’d filled out. all sunkissed, dimpled skin and warm eyes. “no,” he says simply, with a dejected look in his eyes and a sad attempt at a smile. he shrugged his shoulders, letting out a soft sigh. “there’d be no point.” what exactly he means by that, he’ll let simon draw his own conclusions. a place was just a place, however scenic it may be. the only reason he was capable of being nostalgic and feeling any type of way about it was because of simon. to go by himself would only make the ache, the weight of his regret worse.
he shifts his weight from foot to foot, a genuine smile -- one that reaches his eyes beginning to tug at his lips as he meets simon’s gaze. “hey, do you remember that terrible water fight we had at the lake that one year in, ah, september? we didn’t want to accept that summer was ending, and you were out for blood. mainly because i provoked you, but, details.. i was sick in bed for two days after,” he recalls, with a huff of fond laughter. his body hadn’t been able to keep up with the drop in temperature or get dry quick enough. foolishly, he had no regrets. “and then the year after, when i broke my arm trying to rescue mrs. choi’s cat from the tree.. you defaced my cast with so many explicit drawings and sinister messages!” he points an accusing finger at simon, eyes narrowing a bit before his hand dropped back to his side, speaking in a quiet voice. “but you took really good care of me, too.” teddy gives simon a sidelong look, one that lingers even after he averts his gaze.
sexual tension prompts.
i deleted my old blog by mistake, so i’m revamping these!! if you want to reverse them, add a +, like so: [ PIN ] + and the roles will switch! these prompts are inspired by THIS MEME! they’re designed for all muses, regardless of whether they’ve interacted before or not!
[ PIN ] : sender pins receiver against a wall.
[ HANDS ] : our muses’ hands touch. (anything from grazing past or the hand holding content we all deserve.)
[ GAZE ] : sender watches receiver from across a crowded room.
[ GUIDE ] : in order to guide the receiver, sender presses a hand against the small of their back.

[ SLEEVES ] : sender rolls up their sleeves to reveal their forearms.
[ SMIRK ] : while interacting with receiver, sender can’t resist a smirk.
[ NECKLACE ] : sender fastens a necklace around receiver’s neck, leaning in close to do so.
[ CLOSE ] : our muses are in a position which leads to the sender stepping intimately closer to the receiver.
[ UNBUTTON ] : due to heat or stress or other reasons, sender unbuttons the top of their shirt to reveal their neckline.
[ DANCE ] : our muses dance together in close quarters.
[ DEFEND ] : sender physically intervenes between receiver and a source of unwanted attention.

[ SMILE ] : sender begins to grin at something the receiver is saying, like a big unstoppable grin.
[ PULL ] : sender pulls receiver into their side as they’re walking together.
[ STRADDLE ] : while sparring, sender gains the upper hand and pins the receiver in place, straddling their waist in the process.
[ BLADE ] : sender, having been enemies with the receiver, places a knife to their throat, but does nothing else.
[ STARE ] : while the receiver is speaking, the sender’s gaze drifts to their lips.
[ UNDERCOVER ] : while pretending to be a couple for the sake of a mission or other purpose, sender and receiver find themselves giving a Remarkably Convincing performance that leaves them questioning how platonic they really are.
[ AFTER ] : sender has just impulsively and passionately kissed the receiver without any warning nor apparent reason. how does the receiver respond?
[ REMARK ] : after someone passes a remark on what a cute couple the seemingly platonic sender and receiver are, the sender casts a meaningful glance at the receiver, expecting them to say something about it first.
[ PHOTOGRAPH ] : as someone volunteers to take a picture of them on a day out, sender instinctively wraps an arm around the receiver to steady them, holding them close for a photo that turns out to be more romantic than they were expecting.
[ CHALLENGE ] : after the receiver teasingly suggests that the sender is a terrible kisser, sender immediately and fervently proves them wrong with a long, passionate kiss that leaves the receiver taking back what they said.
[ LANGUAGE ] : sender begins to speak seductively and fluently with the receiver in another language.
[ CONSTANT ] : after days/weeks/months/years of endless flirting back and forth, sender finally dares the receiver to go beyond flirting and break the tensions between them properly.
@idleds:
alright, so maybe being a little dramatic here. but in his defense, he definitely has a right to be. seunggi, for all his nerves and stresses, has never been so freaked the fuck out in his life. he's seen too many god damn people get their limbs gnawed on in the past week to be even remotely comfortable in his own skin, let alone in the presence of another person. every time he's run into someone, he's immediately turned and gone the other way. it's simpler that way — less people to ration with, no one to suddenly turn his humming solos into duets. no one giving him a reason to watch his back —
"in numbers? there's two of us," he scoffs, holding his machete up and out, watching for any sudden movements the other might make. maybe he's overly cautious, too. still, his grip on the handle is sure — he's not going to die today, he's not going to die today. "how do i know you're not going to use me for bait or something, huh? or — or — how do i know you're not going to eat me?" god, he's eaten so well his whole life he's convinced he's like a walking fucking prime rib waiting to have his bones picked apart. "if you want to pitch, pitch. the sun's going down and i don't have time for this."
teddy gets it, he really does, but he’s also more than a little burnt out right now. he’s been walking around for a week in sweltering heat unshowered, caked in a thin layer of dirt and blood that’s not his own. and that’s only tackling the physical discomfort he feels, because if he has to unpack all of the shit he’s had to compartmentalize, he’ll have a breakdown. “exactly. not as many dissenting voices. you and i call the shots,” he reasons, still sounding short of breath from the two stragglers they’d fended off together. teddy’s eyebrows make a jump for his hairline when the other man brandishes his blade, and he lets out a disbelieving huff of laughter. “you’ve clearly been on your own for too long if you’re this paranoid. if i had any intentions of screwing you over, i would’ve let the biters get you and stolen your resources,” teddy tells him, his gaze flickering from the cold glint of the machete and back up to the man’s icy face. he’s amused by the accusation of him being a cannibal, but otherwise frustrated with this response.
“one, you don’t have enough meat on your bones for me to want that. two, the world’s fucking ended and you don’t have time to hear me out? fine,” teddy scoffs, brows furrowing as he lets his hand rest idly on the gun holstered on his waistband. he has no intention of being violent, but this guy seems paranoid and jumpy so he wasn’t going to leave an opening for the man to catch him off guard. he wants a pitch? teddy can do that, he worked sales before the world went to shit. “teaming up with someone with a short fuse out here is a death sentence. but you can’t trust anyone who seems too normal and genial either, because they’re the craziest of them all. from what i can tell, you’re a bit paranoid and ill-tempered, but i’ve got sharp reflexes and the patience of a saint. i’m an asshole, but i will not bullshit you,” he tells him, meeting the other man’s gaze head on and full of confidence, the dark circles under his eyes being the only sign of vulnerability.

[ TWIST ]: a letter sent in the aftermath of the writer’s alleged death, only to reveal that they are, in fact, still alive.
[ FINAL ]: a letter written in the aftermath of the recipient’s death, where the writer knows they’ll never get the chance to read it.
[ INITIATE ]: a letter written to the recipient in order to maintain communication between the two while the writer is far away from them.

[ AFAR ]: a letter delivered by the writer from another country/city/planet/etc in order to reassure the recipient and let them know they’re okay. (not intended to be a back-and-forth, like [ INITIATE ] does).
[ HIDDEN ]: a letter written and delivered to the recipient in secret, for the recipient’s eyes only, as a result of information it contains, or because of the person who wrote it.
[ UNSENT ]: a letter written for the recipient, but which the writer ultimately never sends for reasons that the writer conceals, or may reveal within the letter itself.
[ MISTAKE ]: a letter which is sent to the recipient by mistake, and which may contain sensitive information about the recipient.
[ UNVEIL ]: a letter which reveals the truth about a plan that the writer previously and deliberately concealed from the recipient for their safety/well-being.
[ NEEDED ]: a letter that the writer wrote for the recipient after learning of their recent struggles in their personal life, and which contains uplifting words of encouragement, support and other things they feel they should hear to help them through.
[ PILLOW ]: a letter left neatly atop a pillow on the bed that the writer and recipient share, that is discovered by the recipient the following morning after the writer leaves the room/home.
[ FRIDGE ]: a letter attached to the fridge with magnets for the recipient to read in the kitchen.
[ KNOWN ]: a letter which the writer left in a place that only the writer and recipient know of, knowing that only the recipient would be able to find it first.
[ HELP ]: a letter written by the writer to the recipient, asking the recipient for help.
[ STOP ]: a letter written for the recipient which the writer intends to be their final letter to them, and which ultimately concludes all communications between the writer and recipient from that moment forth.
[ PAST ]: a letter which the writer wrote in the past, that reveals a piece of their backstory, that the reader finds and reads out of curiosity. (this could also be a letter written TO the receiver of the meme, or about them, or anything at all!)
𝐙𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐄 𝐀𝐏𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐏𝐒𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐒. (𝐏𝐓. 𝟏)
so i’m rewatching a number of shows based in the zombie apocalypse genre atm, but let’s be totally brutally honest, all of us are dead are absolutely responsible for this! anyway, these are all dialogue prompts, i’m only on episode 1 of twd so be ready for like, a LOT of parts of this!! basically, don’t add to this list, okay? okay. i hope ye enjoy them!
“ how have you survived all this time on your own? “
“ there’s strength in numbers, you know. you should come with me. “
“ i know a place. it’s secure, isolated… it’s safe. if we get there, we stand a good chance. that is… assuming you wanna team up with me? “
“ i’ll keep watch tonight. you try and get some sleep, okay? “
“ what do you miss most? about before? “
“ you won’t get far if you don’t know how to use a weapon. i can teach you, if you like? “
“ if we could get to the airport, or the coast… they’ve got to be evacuating people, right? “
“ let’s set up camp here for tonight. we’re no good if we can’t keep our eyes open to see what’s coming for us. “
“ the radio works. we can’t call for help, but… i found a station that’s still playing music. “
“ is… is that a bite? “
“ no! no, don’t come any closer… i got bit. “
“ no… no, no, please… tell me you didn’t get bit trying to save me. “
“ it’s my fault you got bit! “
“ hey, hey… we don’t have time to argue, love. okay? i got enough time to get you somewhere safe before i turn, but… only if we go right now. okay? “
“ what should we call them? zombies feels kinda silly, doesn’t it? “
“ they’re faster than i thought they’d be. usually… i mean, in the movies… they’re usually so slow. “
“ aim for the head! haven’t you ever seen a zombie movie before?! “
“ listen… we have a camp set up nearby. there’s a group of us; strength in numbers, you know? why don’t you join us? “
“ you’re really naive if you think for one second that the government’s gonna fix all this. we’re on our own. us and the infected. “
“ let’s stop for a second, okay? if that wound of yours gets much worse, the zombies might not have to kill you. “
“ jesus… i’ve never seen a horse that big before… “
“ it’s… it’s crazy, i-i’ve never seen one… never seen one up close like that before. “
“ did you get bitten? scratched? anything? “
“ give me a hand boarding up the windows, will you? “
“ we need water, medicine, ammo and food. in that order. okay? “
“ it’s okay… it’s okay, they won’t be able to get through that barricade, i promise. we’re safe. we’re safe. “
“ your wallet’s useless now; it’s just bits of paper. the world we knew is gone. we’ll be paying with bullets and antibiotics from now on. “
“ you think they can smell us or hear us? you know, which of their senses is stronger since they turned? “
“ i don’t know who the bigger threat is; the dead, or the living. “
“ hurry! that barricade won’t hold them off for long! “
“ damn it! we’re out of gas… looks like we’re gonna have to walk the rest of the way. get your weapons out and ready, and keep quiet, okay? “
“ i heard it on the radio a couple of days ago. it sounded too good to be true, at first. a camp of survivors, food, shelter, protection… but maybe we should try and find it? “
“ what did you do? you know, before? “
“ you’re bleeding… from a bite? scratch? anything from one of those dead monsters?! “
“ i used to be with another group. it didn’t last long. “
“ hey, hey, don’t add so many logs to the fire. the dead might see it. “
“ you know what i don’t miss about before? traffic jams. “
“ do you think we turn regardless? or do we have to be bitten first? “
“ hey, i’m thinking of heading out later for a supply run. wanna join me? “
“ maybe it’s just us. maybe the rest of the world is okay, zombie-free. “
“ do you think we might be the only people left alive? you know, other than the infected? “
“ we need to find somewhere more long-term. with land to farm and fresh water, somewhere high up and isolated. somewhere we can survive and live until this mess is over. “
“ hurry! come with me, they’ll have heard the gunshot! “
“ hey… listen, we… we gotta go now. you can’t stay with them. they’re gone, you know it, they know it… it’s too late for them now. we need to move away before they turn… “
“ no sense in leaving now, they have us surrounded. we’ll camp here for the night; they’ll be gone by morning. “
“ did you know anyone who got bit? who turned? “
“ you think they remember anything from their past, after they turn? “
“ we just need to wait until the scientists come up with a cure, that’s all. “
“ promise you won’t let me become one of those. promise… promise you’ll stop me before i turn. “
“ they’re not alive. okay? it’s not like killing an actual living human being. they’re dead, and they’re starving, and they’re dangerous, and you have to be ready to kill them in a heartbeat. “
“ there’s an evacuation centre up north. if we get there… even if we don’t get on a plane, we could stay there. they say the cold affects the dead. “
“ i’m gonna teach you how to shoot, because the way things are looking now, you’re a bigger danger to yourself than the dead. “
“ use your knife, the gunshot’ll draw more! “
bohemiiia:
simon huffs, left dimple sinking in as an inevitably fond look climbs onto his face. “fine – fine, i take it all back. you’re not good – you’re evil and sadistic, you’re the boogeyman, the cause of that – satanic panic shit,” he murmurs. and although the tone of his voice is readily dripping with sarcasm, simon makes his intention crystal as his hands cup at teddy’s jaw, and pull. he makes a point to squeeze at the soft curve of his lover’s cheeks, before planting a peck, then two, against plush and reddened lips. “not a bit of goodness in ‘ere,” simon whispers still.
he can tell simon doesn’t believe a word he’s saying, and it only serves to warm his cheeks. teddy thinks he could make a laundry list of every terrible thing he’s ever done, and simon would still love him the same. it’s overwhelming to have someone trust in his intentions that much, that whatever he did, he probably did it for the right reasons. dizzying in the best of ways. “yeah, it’s true. i am the cause of the social unrest and conspiracy theories in the ‘80′s,” he says, reaching out to lightly pinch simon’s arm with a snort, “--and stop watching stranger things without me!” he’s stilled by simon’s touch, the feeling of palms against his cheeks and soft lips against his own is enough to quiet any further dissent. his eyes flutter shut as he loops his arms around simon’s neck. “that’s correct. whatever residual goodness i have left in me is reserved for you,” he hums against the soft pair of lips, idly running his fingertips through the hair on the back of simon’s head.
lunarpoem:
* ·゚ . ❀ celeste breathed out a sigh of relief as she closed the door behind her, immediately leaning down to take off her heels with a huff and a puff — haphazardly throwing them on her ever-growing shoe pile near the door. it’d been a long night. one celeste knew was doomed to end miserably when the clock struck midnight and she was already craving to return to the comfort of her own bed. be it due to exhaustion or the night’s events still reeling inside her mind, celeste barely registered the sound of teddy’s voice until he entered her peripheral vision.
❝ i apologise, my dearest teddy. i promise i’ll never leave you again without making sure your water bowl is filled to the brim and you have a whole mountain of your favourite treats to snack on, ❞ the witch vowed, though a teasing smile was present on her lips. he was just too cute, even when his words were less than favourable. she crouched down in front of him, carefully picking him up to cradle him close against her chest. she placed a kiss on the top of his head before scratching the feline behind his ears, moving the both of them to the couch. ❝ will you find a way in your heart to forgive your cruel and imprudent master ? ❞
once celeste was seated on the worn out couch, she loosened her hold on teddy; allowing him to move freely. ❝ you’ll never guess what happened, though ! do you remember veronica ? the girl with the corgi who kept covering you in drool ? we totally caught her boyfriend cheating on her ! ❞ celeste scrunched up her nose, still affronted by the entire ordeal. ❝ and that wasn’t even the worst part. guess who he cheated on her with ? her own sister ! how scandalous ! ❞ the latter half of the night had been spent drying veronica’s tears in a dirty bathroom stall as her friend unpacked three years worth of relationship troubles.
the witch perked up at the mention of the wards, though, trying her hardest to suppress the anxiety bubbling up in her chest. ❝ there’s rumours around town — my friends told me there’s been dark energies present. like, more so than usual ? it felt heavier, too. so let’s hope it’s just mischievous gnomes trying to steal my strawberries, and not an evil being. ❞
teddy felt more at ease the moment celeste stepped over the threshold, letting out a put-upon sigh when she squats down to take off her shoes and immediately tosses them in the pile. he’s listening to her apology well, feline ears standing at full attention as his tail flicks behind him ambivalently. whatever willpower that was left in him to remain stand-offish gets sucked out of him the minute he’s picked up and kissed upon the forehead by the witch. he goes limp in her arms, counting his blessings that celeste can’t tell he’s blushing with his furry countenance -- he’s had to suffer enough humiliation as it is! “you promise?” he mellows out when she begins scratching behind his ears, a low rumbling purr beginning to come from his chest. for his own sake, he’s going to pretend he’s not making that sound.
“i suppose i’ll find a way ... as long as she listens to my humble requests and sagely advice,” he retorts, golden eyes blinking at her meaningfully. teddy is relieved when she sets him down on the couch, hopping out of her lap and sitting next to her on it instead. this way, he can feel more like an actual human having a conversation again. “yes, and have you told veronica that corgi has seriously bad breath? it’s something to look into! it could be a health problem, really,” he huffs, shutting his eyes as he continues to listen to his young witches’ story of her eventful night.
“scandalous indeed. tell me, what did you do to help veronica pay back that kind of betrayal?” there’s a flash of pointed canines as an amused smile sits on his face, living vicariously through his master. he could no longer use any kind of black magic, or anything that wasn’t protection or warding spells. “it better be the gnomes and not those fat raccoons again. regardless of what type of entity it is, let’s refresh the warding to keep any uninvited guests out. whether it’s a creature or something more supernatural.”

* ·゚ . ❀ teddy’s place could only be described as absolutely breathtaking. when minkyu first entered the vampire’s home, it’d felt like he walked straight into an 18th century period drama. if his hands hadn’t been shaking so terribly, he surely would’ve shamelessly asked permission to touch the french rococo vase near the window. the item looked particularly fragile, however, and the idea of breaking something that appeared to cost more than his entire livelihood ( in the presence of a parched vampire, at that ) did make him a bit squeamish.
❝ i like that, though. it’s the nice kind of antique — the complete opposite of my grandma’s stuffy apartment. not that there’s anything wrong with her place, of course ! ❞ he hurried to add, folding his hands in his lap. ❝ it’s just the mismatch of orange and green furniture ? not to mention that the questionable floral print can be a bit of an eye strain, y’know ? ❞ minkyu was rambling, he woefully noted. at least he was able to stop himself before humbly requesting the other to give his grandmother some decoration tips. would teddy even be the type to exchange emails with elderly ladies ?
minkyu’s eyes widened ever so slightly, breathlessly repeating teddy’s answer. ❝ thirty years already ? how much longer are you able to stay, then ? ❞ it was odd, in a way, being confronted with his own mortality just like that. minkyu suspected the vampire to be old — it was apparent in the way teddy seemed to carry himself ; the type of nonchalant elegance that could only be written off as the result of having lived countless of lifetimes. ❝ is it bad etiquette to ask a vampire for their age ? i promise you don’t look a day older than twenty five. ❞
very much to his own surprise, minkyu found himself preening under the praise. a smile tugged on his lips before he decided to continue, albeit a bit shyly. ❝ i avoided garlic, too, actually. i read through some online forums the other week, and people kept insisting i should stick to a healthy diet for my blood to taste good. unless you’re into the bitter stuff ? ❞ upon noticing a flash of teddy’s fangs, minkyu willed himself not to stare. the only thing worse than being unable to hold eye contact for longer than 15 seconds was undoubtedly brazingly gawking at his canines instead. ❝ it’s okay — you don’t have to hide them. it’s best to get used to them, right ? kinda like exposure therapy ? ❞
a sense of relief washed over him at the sight of the wine bottle. rolling his shoulders in an attempt to relax his posture, minkyu allowed himself to sink further into the couch. he was oddly touched by the gesture. those same online forums often cautioned that vampires weren’t particularly fond on providing good care for their food sources. minkyu had prepared for the worst, but so far teddy had been nothing but a generous host. taking the glass with a small thank you and a grateful smile, minkyu tilted his head back to down the drink in one go. that probably wasn’t what teddy had intended when he de-corked the expensive drink, but at least it would ease up his nerves.
minkyu couldn’t help but snort. was it that obvious ? ❝ the only knowledge i have comes from the vampire novels my college roommate used to write. like, the improper steamy ones, if you catch my drift. i highly doubt my friend was too concerned with keeping the vampire lore accurate, if i’m honest. ❞ the novels had been mediocre at best, but minkyu had been entertained regardless. not to mention that he’d always been one to support his friend’s creative endeavors. ❝ i do have a question, i think. the bite — does it hurt a lot ? ❞
he arches a quizzical brow at the mention of his grandma’s stuffy apartment, an amused smile tugging at plush lips as he takes in minkyu’s polite manner of speech and posture. “ah, i see. and here i was about to ask what made it stuffy, but you’ve gone and answered that for me already. here i thought it was an issue of her needing to air out her apartment, but evidently it’s just that you don’t like her kitschy decorating style,” teddy teases, tilting his head to the side with a cocky smirk. “i’m sure it’s charming in it’s own way,” he offers, tone laced with sincerity.
teddy can’t help but be endeared by minkyu’s child-like wonder and fascination towards his kind, although he knows most humans react like this -- the open-minded, tolerant ones at least. “thirty years, yes. i have to find somewhere else within the next five years... any longer than that would be pushing it, i’m afraid. i could stay longer, if i compelled them to forget my existence,” he confesses, with his brows drawn. “i’d prefer not to do that.” teddy blinks, then lets out a breathless laugh when minkyu tells him he doesn’t look a day over twenty-five. there’s a light flush to the high points his otherwise palid cheeks, and he clears his throat.
“aha, thank you. though i suspect that being close to the age i was when i was turned might have something to do with it. i’m two hundred and sixty.. give or take a few years and change. it’s an approximation,” he tells the younger man, scratching the side of his cheek shyly. it wasn’t the fact that the reality of his age being more than two digits embarrassed him, but the fact that he knew it was likely more than that. but there were years of his existence he spent as if drifting through a fog, utterly isolated from society aside from the humans he fed from -- and years spent on the opposite spectrum of that, where he had entire towns under his compulsion. “i appreciate your concern, but you don’t have to worry about vampire etiquette. such a thing hardly exists,” teddy remarks, a bitter laugh escaping him at the thought. aside from requiring permission to enter someone’s dwelling, there was no such thing.
he gazes at minkyu for longer than intended when he confesses to doing some research and avoiding garlic, his lips drawn in mild shock, throat suddenly feeling dry. teddy is used to a more business-like and clinical exchange when procuring blood, and the fact that minkyu seems so invested in making sure it tastes good, that it’s a pleasant experience for the both of them is odd -- albeit very endearing. “i bet you’ll taste delicious just as you are,” he says with a sharp grin, encouraged by minkyu’s kind words. teddy’s eyebrows jump in surprise when minkyu downs the wine in one go, his gaze darkening as he watches the younger man’s throat work. shit. he was trying very hard to be patient.
teddy laughs, after diverting his gaze to his feet to get a brief break from minkyu’s magnetic personality and visuals. “a bodice ripper type of novel, huh? i take no issue with that, most people take artistic liberties when it comes to portraying our kind. i’ve read some myself, some of the concepts they come up with can be quite interesting and make me wish it was that way in reality,” teddy says, with a slight shrug of his shoulders. then the conversation is redirected, and he lets out a low hum, thinking over his response.
“it depends on the person, and your pain tolerance. some, uh, actually find it pleasurable... not to sound like a used car salesman, or anything.” he had no intention of lying or telling pretty half-truths to minkyu, as he’d already gone to excessive lengths to ensure this was ethically done. in the eyes of his coven, teddy was an oddity. teddy stands up and moves to sit beside minkyu on the opposing couch after taking a modest swig of wine and setting it aside. “where do you want it?” he tilts his head to the side demurely, fingertips wrapping around minkyu’s wrist lightly. “here?” he releases it, gaze flickering up to meet minkyu’s before tracing over the man’s carotid with a featherlight touch, stroking slow circles. “or here?”
