"all of my friends are getting married and having kids... and i'm just here."

a stark lack of air had eden rearing back from the heated kiss, though she didn’t stray far. she could still feel the heat of their body pressed against hers, their lips brushing as she spoke. “tell me what you want.”

"oh, you opened it?" eden pretended to be surprised, as if she hadn't noticed the fact the package was torn open. she decided to glance into the little tear and let out a feigned gasp of surprise, as if the only thing that she had ordered lately wasn't just a lacy garment. "mmm... i'm not sure they're your colour," she muttered teasingly, a smile forming upon her lips in a way that she hoped might ease his mind a little. "i guess i just have it saved wrong on the website. i'll have to check the next time i place an order..."

“no, it’s all good!” eden dismisses, an easy enough smile on her lips. “definitely not t-shirts and i’m not sure i’d recommend you trying these on.” as always, she has to poke a little fun at it. especially when she thinks she’s being pretty obvious and omar is obviously too polite to say anything. “is that complete ignorance or should i just take the hint?”

maybe it was being a little imposing to suggest that blu let her tag along with him. they hadn’t met very long ago and even if they had clicked, what’s to say that feeling would last? however, eden found herself somewhat desperate. this was a chance that she’d been waiting for and if she didn’t take it now then she didn’t know when it would arise as an option again. “that’s fine with me! perfect, really,” she insisted, though she did at least take a pause before speaking so to avoid seeming too eager. “i mean — if i want to come back, i’ll do that myself. i just… really need to get out of here for a bit and i’d rather not to it alone. if you wouldn’t mind a little company then i’d be really grateful.”

eden watches, a little too closely, as he pulls the little lacy number out of the bag. it’s become a bit of a game of sorts for her but she does her best not to grin, chin tucking down towards her chest as she at least attempts to appear bashful. she doesn’t pull it off very well. “i don’t know — it might look good on you,” she muses, reaching out to unhook it from his finger and looking over him slowly as if she was trying to work it out. “but it is maybe for the best we don’t find out. i paid a lot of money for this, you know. so it’s awfully considerate of you to bring it down for me.”

"and what made you think that what we had was love?"

their evening had been spent on a date, of sorts. eden didn’t think it was much different from all the other times they’d been together prior to sticking the ‘relationship’ label on what they were but for all intents and purposes, that’s what it had been. a date. and the perfect way to end said date, in her opinion, was by slipping into the bathroom only to come out a few moments later in nothing but a lace set that she’d definitely spent too much money on given her budget that month. “you’re not going to fall asleep on me yet, are you?”
