Caught the flu for the holidays in the middle of working on my Gogmazios update video, but I've powered through and gotten it finished, video under the cut.

I was chatting with a fellow artist about MH gijinka and had the urge to draw some for the first time in a long time

This scene is Heartbreaking.

The game first introduced Arkveld as an evil Monster, the White Wraith was it's name. Hated by Nata, whom we follow through our hunter. Even the guild has, at best, a Neutral view on it at the start. Understanding it's a beast that does what a beast does.

What it does, what it wants, it is a mystery we have to unravel. But then we learn the truth.

Arkveld did not ask to be made. They are the result of people messing with things they should not have touched. They are a forgotten relic from ages long past who just wants to live. But they can't, because they can't adapt to this environment. They are starving, and in trying to find a way to survive, they are imitating eating, but it's not working.

They are a tragedy. Gone from hated by Nata, to wanting to understand them, to relating to them and finally wanting but failing to save them. Even the name, Arkveld, sounds like an actual name compared to other monsters in the game. something you name someone.
