Turtles! They were pointed out to us (we probably wouldn't have seen them) and we in turn pointed them out to other people. I think that's the fun part of a nature walk is passing animal sightings forward.

THERE MAY OR MAY NOT BE SNAPPING TURTLE EGGS IN MY YARD! A month ago my neighbor saw one in our yard (saw a pic to confirm) and it was sitting and digging around one of our trees and I looked and it doesn't look like anything has dug them up and I'm just really excited BC I want baby snappers
That is very exciting! I wish I lived somewhere with more wild turtles around.
Many turtle species do like to dig nests around the roots of plants so it is very possible that you have a nest. I hope you are lucky enough to be around when they hatch (though it may be at night). If there are dangerous obstacles between them and the nearest standing body of water (roads, etc) you may want to help them out by giving them a lift, but beyond that it would be best to leave them alone as much as possible. Also be aware that even as babies they do have a very powerful bite and a surprisingly far reach (the only safe place to pick up a snapper is from directly behind its head or directly above its tail).
Baby snapping turtles are some of the cutest baby turtles in my entirely biased opinion so I wish you luck in spotting some. :)
