#wig styling

They turned out surprisingly well, I’m not usually fantastic at styling wigs

Thanks to my French Mooties for giving me advice!! 🇫🇷🖤 I'll be mostly following this tutorial:

I killed my Ame-Chan (NSO) wig for this 😔 RIP.

I started with a regular helmet wig base (cutting of all the hair + gluing the remaining hair down with Uhu). Then I shaped aluminium foil into Phoenix' spikes and hotglued them onto the base. I made the spikes smaller, bc they're only here for structure

Thanks to the French, I bought foam clay instead of regular clay, which is like 10x lighter. My head will thank you.

I used the foam clay to build up the shape of Phoenix hair. The dried result looks rough but it's okay, Ill glue over it anyways

WiP - Wig 2.0 for PLavi

Two years ago I got my first with for PLavi, I restyled it a few times and after last year's Connichi I was a bit miffed the bangs were on the wrong side and I had the idea of a permanent new wig in mind for a while.

As I do plan to make another PLavi variant I decided 'okay this is the sign to do a new wig for him!' with glueing wefts and all that.

I learned a lot the last weeks and wig work gets better, there is still a lot to learn but I am eager to do it.

First of all brushing the poor thing out, then crimping it and the extra wefts I got.

Followed by glueing the wefts and .... more crimping and the first steaming to be prepared to attach the new wefts.

As you can see I covered the corners under the braids, something that annoyed me for the former wig quite a lot. Sure this is still beginners work but I learn.

Here you can see how it looks with braided hair already.

Next up was the bangs, I cut the side parts to be shorter and started to part the bangs into sections to slowly work through them with steam, got 2B and glue, to have a permanent look.

What helped me greatly was the former work on Vox and pastAllen regarding the parting of the bangs.

And here you can see how I worked through the sidebangs and added curls bit by bit. This was a long process but worth every minute.

After that I had to figure out what to do with the long part of the hair as all the curls were gone from crimping, at first I wanted to do big curls but then went for smaller ones.

I am still not 100% set on these as they lost a bit of volume during the Dokomi (yes I finished the wig and used it the day later already), but overall it held up quite well. I will see how to fix that.

Most important part: the braids. I have to say they were a piece that bothered me a lot regarding the old wig as the were too long or too low or the hairnet was showing but not anymore.

Here you can see the finished styling! As said I wore wig already and it survived quite well.

Wearing test, it's so long I really love it.

Comparison to the old wig ... you can see there is a huge difference.

I'm just gonna start posting wigs I get styled so I don't go insane doing it 💅
