The fact that people in Wicked find Elphaba ugly is so funny to me, because she is always portrayed by absolutely gorgeous women.

I can't stand the idea that Fiyeraba's ending is heterosexual, heteronomous, etc. Fiyero is very clearly either bi or pan. And since Elphaba shares a queer subtext with Glinda, and is canonically also in love with Fiyero, she is also bisexual. Furthermore, Elphaba & Fiyero are two characters who don't see the world the way others do; they are fundamentally different of others and connect because of that. Their entire romance is based on being outside the norm. There's nothing conformist or heterosexual about these two characters ending up together. They literally contribute to the entire queer aspect of the story.

One of my best friends said, and I quote word for word :

The idea that Fiyero & Elphaba sometimes come to Oz disguised by a spell that briefly grants them other appearances to attend Glinda's festivities in order to catch a glimpse of her and the new life she is striving to build without them (Fiyero may or may not be freed from his scarecrow condition, whichever you prefer)... Glinda is happy, or at least trying to be. (Since the loss of Fiyero & Elphaba, she has strived to truly be Glinda the good, and to surround herself with people who matter, although she will never truly be able to completely detach herself from her eternal feeling of loneliness, as she alone holds the truth about all happening in Oz) She has found a man she appreciates enough (if she hasn't come out of the closet), or a woman she truly loves (if she has finally come out of the closet). Fiyero and Elphaba are happy for her. Once they've watched her closely, they dance, enjoying the evening. Glinda sees them. She doesn't recognize them, but seems moved by this couple so in love, who, for some strange reason, are so familiar to her. Then she returns to her current partner, lighter and happier than she was at the beginning of the evening.
