Store Upgrade Parts in Chests
Created for: The Sims 4 by WhosAsking
Description A big annoyance I had with the upgrade system was that there was no way to put away unneeded Upgrade Parts for later. I don't like crowding my Sims' inventories and like putting things away in storage chests and the like. Imagine my annoyance when I learned that Upgrade Parts could only be stored in a Sim's inventory. So, with some programming background and a little help from Sims 4 Studio, I delved into the Object Tunings and discovered that was exactly how they were set up: the only storage vessel allowed for Upgrade Parts was Sims. So, after looking things up, I made the simple adjustment to add Storage Chests (like the Buyer Beware) to their allowed list of storage vessels. They can now move back and forth with ease. One caveat: Upgrade Parts still need to be on the Sim's person in order to be used in actual upgrades, but that simply means transferring the necessary parts out of the chest and back to the Sim. Compatibility I created and tested this mod on version 1.47.51.1020. Due to the nature of the mod, it should work with earlier versions. However, I cannot verify this. Your mileage may vary. Also, because this is an override, take caution should one remove the mod while storing Upgrade Parts inside a chest. To prevent unpredictable behavior, transfer the parts back to a Sim before doing so.
